Colossal idiot here - it was the Kill switch. I never use it, but had inadvertently hit it and - when she didn't start, that put be into a mental spin...which for me isn't a productive state of mind. Thanks to everyone for the assist. Now, if the temps will lower a bit, I'll get back to riding.5 points

Thank you. I felt like I had a memory of MB that pre-dated Facebook medical but didn't know why. So horse medicine for Covid and fish medicine for everything else; I'm set!4 points

Yea, it's fucking nuts. Carlos brought his fucking starlink to my house and hogged up almost 2 square feet of my dirt with it. Then I stupidly decided to move it all by myself and damn near threw out my back, I can almost guarantee that monstrosity weighs over 5 lbs.3 points

2000 Suzuki VZ800 (aka Marauder). 29k miles. The Good - starts and runs well. Shifts ok at the 15mph or less I rode it. Bodywork is reasonably good / straight. After market seat. Thats about it. The bad - forks are HEAVILY blown - and have been for some time. Im not sure about the rear shock either. Brakes are HEAVILY contaminated. Im shocked the damn thing stopped when he rode it here- literal grease/oil on the rotor and pads. Chain'n sprockets needed replacement in 2006. Tires likely too. I "think" the frame is straight but the bolt on t-bar style handlebars sit tweaked in the triple. Knocked around during a fall I'm sure - cant guarantee bars are straight. This is one if no one wants it will go for scrap. Whoever buys its will get a title and " for parts only" BOS - do with it what you will. I'm genuinely scared to sell it locally because someone might actually try and ride it as is... If you can do labor yourself and spend some time with it - you could make a decent riding reliable bike out of this. Some investment would be required. $100 bike + $250 doc fee and tax for your location.2 points

Those who succeed come to realize they have effectively made a lifestyle change, and it is to be maintained as such. The benefits are not just physiological, but psychological as well. You did this--no one did it for you. Savor the sense of satisfaction and well-being--you earned it. Resist the urge to look critically upon others who have not your sense of commitment and dedication (despite any obvious need on their part); but, rather provide quiet yet competent influence by continuing to lead this lifestyle of healthy example. Congrats, and carry on!2 points

New Blower motor from RockAuto runs from $18 to 49. Additional $10 for the blower motor module. Blower motor relay is $8.50 to 22. How much time have you spent on this already?2 points

Sounds like a great way to create an adventure. Post often so we'll have a clue where it and/or you died along the way.2 points

On my carbs the needles look like the one on the left. If I remember correctly, there is also a small washer? Hold the tip of a soldering iron on the alloy part holding the pin on both sides of the float, just don't touch the float.2 points

A friend's parent's oven crapped out so they called a professional, it was deemed unfixable so they ordered a replacement which was just under $3k. Then the BS started with delays over unavailable models and and it became over $4k. Then I heard about it. I ordered an OEM heating element for under $70 and installed it, done.2 points

FB and Tiktok are great sources of medical info. Particularly something that is somewhat easy to OD on and has deadly or lifelong consequences. Luckily however, nearly every FB seller is significantly under-dosing it and selling mostly water.2 points

My roomie is using the stuff, his is a liquid, he puts a couple drops in a glass of water. Every couple weeks he's doing whatever the latest facebook miracle thing is so I've stopped asking and have no idea what it's done for him. If I asked I still wouldn't know because all the previous snake oils things were 'miraculous life changers', yet I don't see him using them or talking about them any more. If someone makes something that makes you stop dating a crazy bitch I'll buy it for him.2 points

And...now that I ordered a replacement thermostat...the oven seems to be working. 🙄2 points

Wow, I didn't know any of that. Maybe if I worked on cars I'd have a clue. I've replaced many compressors and clutches, never with OEM, and none have been an issue. Also, many "OEM" parts for old cars are rebuilt, not new, and could be coming from the same guy who does them for the parts stores. For the extra money spent you get a Ford box and shorter warrantee. And you're wrong about the "big cost" of replacing a compressor, assuming yours needs to be replaced. If yours "tore up" the bulk of the cost will be cleaning and replacing the parts that became contaminated with compressor shrapnel. Most "failed" Ford compressors I've deal with just needed the clutch adjusted or replaced.1 point

You do know there is a blower resistor in the system right? Usually they start failing only on one or two fan speeds but I guess it may be possible that it or the connection to be failing. I'm not saying that is your problem but another place to look. https://www.autozone.com/cooling-heating-and-climate-control/blower-motor-resistor/p/duralast-hvac-blower-motor-resistor-ja1506/200888_0_01 point

The last billing cycle we used 507kwh. Then I added another EV and we started using the AC, this month's usage will be just over 300kwh thanks to the solar power.1 point

If there are dozens more, why not start with the American sources? (rhetorical) You can find "studies" on how just about anything in the universe will kill or cure. Given how long chickens have been walking the planet, and humans have been eating their babies, with rampant diabetes being relatively new, I think you can understand my skepticism. Perhaps the real problem is something more modern? Plus, results rarely apply to everyone. However, everyone does have an agenda. Even scientists and doctors. You can show me a thousand motorcycle crashes, and I will still ride. (mic drop)1 point

Where did you hear this? Can you provide a source? I only want to know, so I know which source to ignore as total BS.1 point

If the exhaust is aimed so that it is directly shooting out the open end what, Zero said is, well, the usual zero value. Recycling the hot cooling air is the only thing I'd be concerned with. If the cooling air exhausts along with the engine exhaust then your fine, otherwise it could be a problem.1 point

That's what I usually do. I recently replaced a bearing in my outdrive, I bought a Timken, which is what the OE was, for about 1/3 the price of buying it through any marine parts place.1 point

The door on my ice maker also acted up and would not seal properly so that ice would melt alittle and freeze up the working of the dispenser anyway. I took the ice container from the inside off and stuffed a rag in the hole and put it back, I just reach in and grab ice when needed. My fridge is going on 20 years and from what I have heard the newer units do not last very long. So I'm keeping this one until it fails completly.1 point

I moved the panels to the roof, just 9 of them so far. I haven't connected to the electrical panel yet, just powering the AC and car charger. Yesterday I ran the AC all day and charged both cars, the total energy was more than the house's average daily consumption. The 40amp solar charge controller was maxed out, but it pulled it off and the batteries never dropped below 12.5v.1 point

It was higher-end Chinesium metal, not Walmart, but the cushions were not as promised. I had put a five year "anything that happens" warranty on it, which paid us the full cost back ($600) since they couldn't repair it. So it was free, other than the repairs. On top of that it matches everything else much better than it did. I didn't like the colors at all, but loved the function and solid metal.1 point

Hmmm...the dinner and dessert I am preparing tonight for four people will have used a total of 18 eggs. Specifically 16 egg yolks and 2 full eggs. Also at least two sticks of butter. I will rename it Deadly but Delicious.1 point
