That's certainly true. Probably because it smells and tastes like feet (to me). Cauliflower is the same thing, just missing the chlorophyll. For most restaurants around here, it's about the only green vegetable on the menu that isn't a salad. What happened to green beans, peas, carrots? I'll eat those. Hell, even corn is sometimes missing (not that it is a good veggie).

I'm going to have a problem with #2. Just saying.

Now I have a code for the bank 1 camshaft position sensor (of course it's the harder one to access). Going to replace both. I don't think this has anything to do with cruise control problem, but one can hope. Rock Auto specifically shows a speed sensor for the Frontier automatic transmission, but only wheel-speed sensors for the manual trans. So, logically, the computer had to be programmed to compare wheel speed with engine RPM while in top gear. A change in tire size (which I have done) will not be recognized by the computer, but it could/would recognize a difference if the gearing was changed. I went from 3.69 to 3.36 gears, which is the same ratio used on the non-Pro-4X with automatic transmission. Not sure why Nissan would program the computer to have a fit about the change. I'll entertain some guesses, if anybody has one.

Certainly not Honda. I believe someone once said on here, that you could get them on Ebay. No idea of quality.

Well, shit. Guess it doesn't matter now, since I no longer have a Bird, but I always saw my Givi Wing-rack set-up as an ugly compromise.

Sounds like the carbs just need a good, thorough cleaning, but make sure to check those slide diaphragms while you are in there. Hold them up to a light to check for pin holes.

Woh, woh, woh!!! Just noticed the CBR logo on the saddle bags. Did Honda actually make factory bags for the Bird? If so, when? Not available in the USA?

DAMN! That's a big change. Medication? Fishing? Both? Big ol bag of weed?

What scanner brand/model do you recommend between $100-$150? I would like to have something that would let diagnose more than the typical shade-tree mechanic. Also, would a bi-directional scanner let me change the factory programmed gear ratio? And/or let me re-program the speedometer for the smaller diameter tires I run for street duty? For this, I would spend more.

Is anyone surprised that Carlos is good with using rubber things? 🤔

Okay, back from vacation. Checked the speed sensors again, and everything looks fine. Oscar is likely right about it being an ECU issue. I would think it worse, if I had gone the other way with the gearing. Fucking bastards have to control everything. "How dare you change anything on our vehicle without factory permission! Off with your head." I definitely need a better/newer scanning tool. As I understand it, towing in over-drive for an automatic trans is a big no-no, due to possible over-heating (lock-up convertors help a lot with this). With a manual trans, no such issue, all things being equal. In fact, I would argue that 5th gear would run hotter in a 6-speed manual due to higher gear tooth meshing speeds (just read a Cycle World article about that). However, the change would be very minor.

Why? I don't off-road much, so I put smaller, sportier tires on, and now RPM towing in 5th is fairly high. On rare occasion (big tailwind), I can pull in 6th. Was trying to lower RPM a little in 5th. Better gas mileage not towing is additional benefit. Front axle has no electrics, and neither does the driveshaft. Not sure about trans. I'm sure it's the wheel speed sensor(s), but they are $100 each aftermarket, and there is right and left. Which ever I buy, it will be the wrong one. Was hoping for more insight before spending $200.

Yes, I did change gear ratio from 3.69 to 3.36. Yes, I changed the front axle as well. Put in a heavier Titan unit from the salvage yard. Yes, I visually verified the 3.36 ratio. Speed is picked up at the wheels, so speedo did not change, just RPM. Also have 4 new tires. So, you're saying the ECU is locked to the factory ratio? Not sure why they would do that, but seems I would be having more issues, if it was. None of the videos I watched mentioned computer problems changing ratio. Why only 6th gear? 🤔

Furbird, this is a good one for your Nissan friends. 2017 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X with manual transmission: Cruise control will not stay set over 65 MPH indicated, but only in 6th gear. In 5th gear, it works up to at least 90. Sometimes I can get it to set for a few seconds between 65 and 70, but kicks off as soon as I hit the slightest bump. The problem started after I rebuilt the rear end. I figured I might have damaged one of the wheel speed sensors, but if so, why does it work in 5th? Sensors look fine. Antilock brakes, and traction control seem unaffected. Anyone have an idea?

Is metformin a strong anti-aging pill even for non-diabetics?

Great. I'll tell my wife that she will now live even longer after I have turned to dust. -
When you start counting them as Christmas gifts. 😄

Got one sensor wire that oily for sure. Not sure where it's coming from (probably everywhere on a truck with 166K). I'll see if that is the "bank 1" side. Thanks.

Not from OEM, but Denso's, which I believe is what Nissan sells. No emissions test here. Just want to prevent that false code.

Surprised I haven't heard of this thing before. Modern vehicles usually have one O2 sensor before the CAT, and one after. The first is for correcting fuel mixture, and the second is just for making sure the CAT is working properly. Is that correct? If so, then this little device let's you use a cheap replacement CAT that may or may not be up to factory specs? Because that is pretty much what I did (replaced all 4 O2 sensors as well), and the computer don't like it (well, it did for a week, or so). No way I'm spending $3K for CAT's on a $7K truck.

I want to know what brand of 14mm socket you have that will handle a 1/2" impact gun without splitting. ??????

So, let me get this straight. This little O2 bung device is supposed to fool your O2 sensor into believing the catalytic convertor is doing it's job properly? I put new aftermarket cats on my son's Frontier pickup, and after a few months starting getting the same "cat efficiency code, bank 1) that I got when the original went bad. Would be cool, if this little device fixed the check engine light, as in "let it show for more serious problems".
