  1. Hmm, slower than usual today.
  2. Buying across state lines can sometimes introduce issues, but not always. I've heard from good sources (didn't totally verify) that a CA purchase by an Arizonan gets double taxed, and that it's not unusual to take possession at the state line. Lot boy drives it out, hands it over to you. Either goes back with a second car or takes a bus. In some states they just hand over the MSO, no tax, you pay on arrival. And yet others collect for each other. You need to look first when doing interstate transactions. NV for us is easy; no tax there, pay when you get here.
  3. Sales tax varies greatly by city here. Unfortunately it follows the registered address, not the dealer's location. When I bought in Scottsdale, with the lowest sales tax rate in the state, I was surprised to see that I was charged for Peoria, one of the highest. For the next buy I used the postal box address which is middle ground. Hey, 1% of the $30k difference between trade and sale price is a VERY nice bottle of Scotch.
  4. I believe the only one with the separate rubber edging all the way around was Cee Bailey. Cheetah was edgeless. I'm certain I had one of them at some point. I tried find an identifying photo but failed, but did find this, LOL...
  5. Nice seat upgrade, and those bags were also an expensive add-on. The miles make it rare. I'm usually one to poo-poo a high price for a 21 year old bike, but this might well be reasonable at $6k.
  6. Bastard, that's a steal. I would have jumped on it. I have the BMW 3-4 season and it's got a shitload of miles, might be nearing retirementburn pile.
  7. It varies by state. Here you pay sales tax purely on the difference, some states you pay on the whole thing anyway. So when the dealer offered $28k trade for the Wrangler, I'd have to get a little over $30k private party just to match it.
  8. This absorbs a lot of oil, no clue on heat resistance: https://smile.amazon.com/Star-brite-Bilge-Pads-Pack/dp/B00FS4LKMU?sa-no-redirect=1 This is heat resistance, and absorbs a little bit of oil: https://smile.amazon.com/Automotive-Replacement-Exhaust-Heat-Wrap-Matting-Sleeving/b?ie=UTF8&node=15726941&sa-no-redirect=1
  9. Well at least that removed the last song stuck in my head, and it was from the Spice Girls.
  10. The CP1500 is a favorite for telecom and security equipment that needs to run for a few hours if needed.
  11. That's really tiny. What do you expect to run on it?
  12. I've used a whole bunch of different ones in the 600-1800 range and none have been bad. Cyberpower, APC, and others. They're all the same.
  13. Go to Walmart and spend the $60 already, cheap fucker. "Will not turn the engine over" as in it tries and doesn't, or doesn't try at all? Do you have a charger with a starter mode?
  14. I've got another set, same deal, if there are two takers.
  15. I think speed won't matter. The bubble will stay up top. And the master has a way to reverse-bleed bubbles out. Oh, and on many masters it will spurt when you move the lever so watch for that.
  16. I've been able to do this on a bicycle and then bleed by tapping the lever hard and fast. It shakes the bubbles back out. A motorcycle should in theory work better since the lines and holes are much bigger.
  17. I reminded him to post here. Both were running when put away, and life got in the way of riding. He's been on the CBR email list for decades and I don't know him in 3D, but know he's not a liar.
  18. No, motorcycle. Or did I get the number wrong? I didn't recognize it and didn't care so I didn't think about it. Yeah, that was it... Bike 1: 1998 Blackbird. 103K miles. In the shape you'd expect for that, and not running right now. Bike 2: 2004 919 (Hornet) I think about 25K miles. In better shape, but also not running.
  19. I thought I might get your attention. Not sure why he hasn't posted yet, hehis wife seemed pretty motivated to get it and a 919 out of the way.
  20. And there's another carbed non-runner inbound any moment now. Around PA I believe.
  21. It's offroad recovery gear. The white thing is a 30' web strap for pulling. Shackle, gloves, instructions.
  22. It's just a generic cable swaging tool from Amazon. I never use the terminal type ends, I loop the cable and use a standard swage. I make stuff for around the shop and the house. Like cables to keep our shed from blowing over in high winds. Loops on both ends for screws.
