  1. Nice find! Best off cleaning it up best you can and keep it unrestored as it looks very original. Other than that, dig in deep and rechrome everything. Japanese chrome was shitty in the 70's. Here is my '77 rd400. a lot of fun around town. So many people want to talk about them. I always wanted one in Highschool. After getting one and owning a Blackbird I just shake my head. Oh the 70's.

  2. I can't stand that fucking guy, and he's often wrong giving shitty advice. He's the only person on YouTube that's banned me from his channel for challenging his retardation being peddled as correct information. I don't recall an instance where my scanner didn't clear a code without there being a fault. If there's a fault then of course it'll appear as tho the scanner didn't clear it since the fault code will pop right back up.

  3. The boots might be salvageable, but remember that the carb to airbox boot was just crumbles. The more I think about half-assed fast fixes, the less I want to do this half-assed, honestly.

  4. Bah, they have to be good, DON'T TRY TO UPSELL ME. But yeah, great point. Now to decide how to go about the engine running. I think carb cleaning, gaskets, and rubber boots on both ends are the only real must haves. See though, then I think...the brakes. But now the wheels are apart, and... Remember that this started with a loose mirror.

  5. Having lived out west, there IS a difference. I’d sunbathe in freezing weather because the sun was out, and no breeze. Like an air conditioned tanning bed.

  6. ...all my shit works. It's only -9F tonight. But, it's a dry cold... FWIW - I have extra tool kits. I got one set for the kid's XX from rockmeupto125.

  7. I'd get it running and put a few miles on it. Partly to decide if you want it which may change the course of restoration, but also to know that it runs and shifts well and doesn't leak which will dictate what you do with the engine.

  8. Tank is shockingly clean. The chrome thing is something to investigate, its one of those things that I can't guess whether it would be $50 or $2000. I do have some familiarity with the oilers, and having to just go premix. I haven't decided on that yet, but it will get a thorough test.

  9. I'm saving those to fund my retirement. And gauge clusters. And if things get real bad, I'll sell the new OEM CB350F exhaust sets I have.
