$350 is ludicrous.  Their claim of "it works with any size motorcycle" is retarded.  And to be able to use it you'll also need their jack or some other way of getting the bike onto the stand.

If I were in the market for something like that I would start by looking at a transmission jack and possibly hacking it to serve double duty as the lift and rolling stand.

The first one Carlos linked doesn't look very stable for rolling around.  The second/third which seem to be the same thing at a glance would probably be more secure, but you'll still have the front tire on the ground which could be a plus or minus.  The fact that they show two different ones on the same ad doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.  Between the two I'd trust the center stand one, but check out the reviews on the other one, it could be easier to maneuver around as long as it's stable.

That company has dozens of them listed, by specific motorcycle types and models, just to get the search results.

The one in the first link really needs a strap if it's being used for anything bigger than a dirt bike.

I have one of those expensive LEGAL SPEEDING ones that cost me $9,000.  If it didn't weigh 5,000 pounds I'd have sold it to one of you knuckleheads a long time ago.

1st world problems of lifting bike off side stand and rolling it on its own wheels.

I'd love to pop the wheels off right now.  And it's also just awkward to move it around when it's mostly disassembled.  Or to stop your work to move it and gain space when needed.

Goddammit I may be talking myself into a welding project later.

i have one similar to this i purchased used for $35.  had my klr on it for several days while the forks were serviced and was able to drag it around the garage without issue.  i did have 4 tie downs to stabilize things.  only works with bikes that have frame tubes below the motor though...

then there's that other expensive one that uses the frame.  i seem to remember them being more expensive that the ones here;

A motorcycle shop I used to go to had one of those for display bikes.  If the bike doesn't have rails, they would put a piece of plywood under it that had foam glued to one side.

The header is the lowest point on the Bird and is off center making it hard to use anything under it that will be stable that looks like the O.P.

Sold the monkey.

Funny story, the dude drove from Cleveland to my house last Sunday. His wife is holding a checkbook in her hand....and I say, I’m only taking cash.

Back to Cleveland they went.

Coming back in 2 weeks.

Nope, I did not. Sucked for him but anyone who thinks anyone is going to take a $4000 personal check from a stranger - well yeah, funny.

What.The.Fuck

Who the hell would even think that a check to buy a vehicle is going to fly?

Posted

Someone who don't get it, or hoping to steal it.  If he didn't leave a sizable deposit and/or doesn't come back to buy it he was probably hoping to steal it.

Way back I had someone try to use a check, when I said no he went to the bank and got cash.  He seemed legit, probably just assumed there was no reason to doubt his check.  The guy that bought my Jaguar wanted to give me a cashier's check  because he didn't want to fly out here with 12k cash, understandable.  Altho I was 99.735% positive that he was legit, I had him take it to a local branch and get cash.

This is what suggests fraud.  Partly because of the decline part, and partly because he was willing to pay hundreds in fees for doing that.
