shift light??

Yea, what ya want to know?

Easy answer. Get a MSD RPM activated switch and any size light you want to have. This is more expensive than the available automotive shift lights, but I haven't found one that goes to 10,500 RPM yet. A lot of people use this same concept to activate their nitrous. Have it set to spray over 7 or 8K so as to launch good and automatically spray. The MSD switches aren't really that bad if you get the ones with the modules to plug into it. The adjustable one with the dial on it gets expensive.

You can set it to activate power or complete the ground as it's just a switch. You can find the RPM switches at any good dragracing type shop.

www.schnitzracing.com has them.

I actually have the module "cheat sheet", with all the resistor values so you can make your own pills for the MSD products. The resistors and the correct plugs cost me a whole $3 for like 20 of them, whereas a pack of 5 pills cost around $20.

Shift light:

uses chips like the RPM switch uses: You'd probably need the 10,000 RPM Pack

RPM Switch if you wanted to use your own light:

Best bet would to use the Shift light and the RPM chips (that is if Furbird will let you know what resistors and plugs you'd need). A good shift light will run you more than the price difference between the switch and the MSD Shift light.

Not on mine. A friend has one on his bird and works good. Might take me a couple days to get a pic of it. His looks like an Autometer Shift Light. Big black light mounted above his gauges on his 97 bird along with his nitrous controls.
