  3. I have to go 1500 miles round trip with it in the back of my pickup. How long did you make the pvc pipe? I assume you made a handle bar extender out of it. How bad did it rub? Did it take paint of the upper fairing?

  6. the tranny problem is probably either a bent shift fork or a bad shift drum. Both will lwt the bike shift out of a gear under acceleration. The good news is niether one of them are expensive and the 900rr tranney can be taken apart while the motor is still in the bike. Just have to drop the exhaust and oil pan.

  9. If you can tap the outside body of the carb and make the float work then you probably have a slight varnish build up in the bowl. Take off the bowl and remove the float. Clean the hinge area and the pin. This is not an uncommon thing to happen to any carb that has sit with fuel. Next time pt gas stablizer in it or drain the gas out. Varnish makes the insides sticky and gummy. Thats why the float is sticking and making it overfill.

  13. I usually fill mine up at the quarter tank mark and I can only put about 3.5 to 3.75 gallons in at that point. Which leaves 2.5 gallons of fuel left in the tank. If it was accurate it (the gauge) were accurate the tank should have more like 1.5 gallons left at a quarter tank.

    What? you have to take it out of the box? Next thing you gonna tell me is I shouldn't have oiled the box. I clean it every two months and amazingly its not very dirty. :shock:
  16. just to let everyone know I just had to go buy two new bolts to put the right rear set back on my bike. For some reason the bolts mysteriously disappeared. The only thing that kept it from falling of was the brake part bolted to it. Luckily I havent carried a pillion in a few weeks. I suggest checking yours to make sure they are tight. If not you have to remove the tail section plastic to get to the bolts. Ace hardware had a perfect size replacement bolt. later

  19. Just to let you know Lowes is having a sell on all power tools this weekend only (20 percent off). Also the 7 piece B&D set that sold for 299.99 is now 199.99 plus the 20 percent off. I walked out with the 7 piece set tonight for 170 including tax. Better hurry if you want to get in on the deal My local store only had 15 boxes left and they just went on sale tonight. the 199 kit is now 169 I believe plus 20 percent off. This includes cordless and corded power tools and MOST accessories.
  20. Well I would say if the bike has been sitting long enough to drain the battery flat the fuel in the tank is varnish by now. drain the tank. Put a fresh battery and fresh fuel. Then try to start it. Just remember don't lay on the starter for to long. These little babies get warm pretty fast and tend to go bad shortly there after. After I got it started I would probably run a half bottle of injector cleaner or "Seafoam" through the system. When you put the bike away again put some stabile in the tank and run it for a few minutes. Take the battery out and take it home to keep it warm and charged. "A warm battery is a happy battery". Batteries are like plants and dogs, if you don't watch over them and maintain them they will die. Choice numero two. I could come up and take the bike from you and call it my own. I would make sure she has a good home and is properly maintained. She would have another one to play with as well. Of course I would do this free of charge. After all its the humane thing to do.

    Someone posted (i think warchild) a link to a website selling different styles of HID bulbs for common applications. I can't find that website anymore. someone please help me out.
  23. It didn't sound like a CCT. More like a valve. When the bike cooled down in the garage the noise was not as noticeable, but was still there. Hopefully it is nothing to bad. Glad you made it back man.

Rewriting the expected performance requirements for all horses. 14. Promoting the dead horse to a supervisory position.
