  1. I have the manual for a 97 at home but i am at work researching some advice that an old friend gave in regards to factory pro jet kits. Anyway I am wondering what are the STOCK pilot jet sizes?
  2. Thanks guys...worked out a deal with Matt(MrBadExxample)
  3. I have a handful of parts to send to the powdercoater including my centerstand, however I dont have any way to support the bike while the fork lowers are getting coated at the same time...right now the bike is strapped to the trailer with the weight off the front. So anyone have a centerstand I could trade for or buy REALLY REALLY cheep?
  4. The best advice I can give you is to do a search from a former (and very missed) member whose name was Maxx. I spoke with him and he played around with the jets on his 97 and found the perfect combo
  5. Thanks guys, definately gonna ask him what he was smoking...so much for trusting relatives..
  6. Without rewiring, it will not work. It won't plug in, that's for sure. However, it would work if it's rewired. J. i did rewire it...stator worked fine and still does. The RR was a different story..it would not regulate..it put out a steady 18v...i posted about it having an extra black wire IIRC but no one really knew what it was for...ultimately I just went back to a yammie RR
  7. my brother did the work and he use to work for honda till this past month and now works at suzuki. He said all were within specs according to the manual with a couple close but not outside..runs good and compression is good...wouldnt failing valve seats show up on a compression test?
  8. i put a stator from a 99 on mine but a 99 RR wouldnt work...Everything was new and the RR actually is working fine in furbirds bike...if the 01 has the wiring tail coming out of it it wont work on a 97
  9. Well my brother just finished putting the engine back in my bird and checking the valves. Thought I would post up the measured gaps. Not bad for a 10 year old bike with 94k on it? Valve Cylinder 1 INT .002 .003 EXH .007 .006 Cylinder 2 .002 .002 .006 .007 Cylinder 3 .002 .002 .008 .006 Cylinder 4 .006 .007 .007 .007
  10. drooolll... and the bike looks good too. Who did the black chrome?
  11. It was because the margin for knocking is reduced with an advancer. If the preignition is just on the margin, the engine will ping with low quality fuel. Thanks, I understand the concept of pinging but did not understand why shell gas would cause it to knock. Shell is not cheap gas by any means...anyway my point was more or less along the lines of what you said...different gas or the addition of seafoam might be enough to eradicate the issue all together
  12. ask him if the CCT could cause enough knock or vibration to light the FI. I don't see how, but ask him if what I did could fix this. I changes the gas and run SEAFOAM through it, the light has not come on yet. I should know more after this weekend. Ron Dunno if this has any relevance to your issue but when i put the factory pro ignition advance on my 97 it became very sensitive to different gas sources. I ran seafoam and chevron on a regular basis. if i used shell gas it would knock everytime like clockwork. I dont understand why exactly but I was aware of it
  13. my brother is bringing my new wheels this weekend, which means I will have a 97 wheel available but it doesnt have disks
  14. Your question has been answered several times, including the second post in this thread, complete with a link to CTS Moto. Contact Mike, he's your only source for these levers, although he does sell them on eBay. not trying to be a smart ass but you did not answer the question...you told me of an adapter block for the xx and suggested i go to cts moto and talk to mike. cts website links to pazzo...so no information there. and cts isnt the only source apparently..i supplied a link for another...now i know that the 19X18 and 19X20 numbers refer to aftermarket brembo cyclinders...THAT the answer to my question...Thank you RANDY
