Yeah, I posted it in the wrong thread. I have a '60 F100 I've been drooling over. Seller auto-offered $2,250. That Coyote in there ... eBay F100

Yeah, was it rubber, or low durometer PVC or some such?

I do almost everything on a monitor. I don't have a backlit keyboard, yet. I was trying to figure out what an appropriate lighting kevel was. I found there are now apps to use your cell-phone as a light meter. IES doesn't call out a level for strictly using a computer screen 8 hours a day or more. I think 30 foot candles is too much. That, and on a personal level, my eyes are old. They don't adjust the way they used to. https://www.resourceltg.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Interpretation-of-IES-Standards-Resource-1.pdf https://www.resourceltg.com/ies-footcandle-guide/ https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://waypointlighting.com/uploads/2/6/8/4/26847904/ies_recommended_light_levels.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiIk8GNv_ODAxWiLDQIHR_wDl0QFnoECCUQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2KhvnSA4zjKiy0O1hqtFiy

Nobody can answer my question. Do you have an extra one of those later on that you could soften up and see how long it stays? Pliable? Apparently it's a big mystery.

Good thing you don't live in California! I'm looking for mySAFETY DATA SHEET - Fisher Scientific https://www.fishersci.com/store/msds?partNumber=AA43301&productDescription=keyword&vendorId=VN00024248&countryCode=US&language=en

I thought of 3D modeling them and printing them.

Is anybody had a black bird that they've had to soften up? Any rubber boots or such? I know there's a part in the carb models. I think that it's like a rubber diaphragm, but that rips? One of the guys on the 1100F site tried to answer my question about longevity of the softness. The guys on the X site just beat me down and told me to go by new. It's only 140 bucks. I didn't explain a lot of what was going on though. How long does the magic last? Does everything turn to a pumpkin at midnight?

Yeah - they are becoming more plentiful and less expensive. The one set does not look correct. The other set is 40 years old? I thought the outer cylinders had a bit of a bend to them.

The CBX guys swear by wintergreen oil. ...six boots....

Apple Watch Series 7 - like new (Price Drop)
XXitanium replied to DBLXX's topic in The Sales Floor -- For Sale/Wanted
I don't do iThingies, but my wife has run them for decades. I bought one of Dave's discards (iPhone 6S?) for her. She got another 5 good years of use out of it before it wouldn't keep up on the data highway. He gave me a few bucks off on the purchase as well. That being said, I could Google it, but I don't keep up on that market segment or the versions. I doubt I could form a decent query. A picture would help me get in the conversation. . -

Yeah, I'm like 7 pages on an Apple watch? I was going to ignore it. Then, I thought - what is the conversation about? ...exposure. -
I ended up tearing out the whole unit accidentally. Years ago in the basement bathroom I reached on it and twisted it. There were no shut-offs behind the wall. I had to shut off the main water at the house shut off the hot water heater. I sent my family up to the in-laws for the night and I started cutting drywall and replacing the whole unit. This video looks like it should just drop off of there. https://youtu.be/y24kzjBOQvE?si=r2PZgtLjLJbA-j3Y

Yeah, dragsters had special girdles that strapped over the tunnel at one point may decades ago. They looked like fire hose material. ...looks like they're more high tech now.
-
I "Googled" it and by the lack of information, I don't think them heating up under normal conditions is a thing.

My wife is watching Gotham Garage (Car Masters, rust to riches) They built a Tesla withe a mega carb'd 383CID. They made a cheezy hole in the hood.... etcetera They ran the drive-shaft inside the car instead of making a tunnel and running it outside. I'm pretty sure they are generally run outside for safety. I've twisted a pinion off the rear end, a long time ago. You don'want a drive shaft flopping around in the interior of a automobile cabin. ....so, here are my questions. 1. What is the operating temperature of a universal joint operating under normal circumstances mounted outside? I think "barely warm to the touch?" 2. Would mounting them inside allow less cooling and make them heat up? (I don't think it would change much) opinions?
