  1. This may be apples and oranges but I have known of turbo failures on diesel pickups/dumps. I can't say if it came from lack of maintenance or added tuner or just worked hard.
  2. Thanks. Doesn't seem likely I'll have to do it again.
  3. I got it out tonight and I'm not sure it wasn't the one I already changed. Couldn't find any markings on it at all. The pin was a lot smaller than I remembered and I tried some different screws a little while but noticed there was a tiny tiny bit maybe a 1/32" raised above the hole and the screws had spread it a little. Using side cuts and some patience it came out. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
  4. Was it raining in there? 😁 J/K Good job.
  5. You know what tastes better than tators or avocados? This, it was soaked in Smoky Applewood marinade for 24 hours and cooked on the grill tonight. 😁
  6. Maybe a quick photo would help explain the problem better.
  7. The 7.3 gas is all they have at my son's work and they love them and no issues. You never buy the first year of a brand new production and from what I have read, any issues Ford replaced the engine without question. Don't buy a 2021-early 22, new shouldn't be a problem from what I understand.
  8. Not that it matters here but my son was just telling me that he spent the last weekend changing a cracked head on a Cummins for a friend. I jokingly said that the Dodge was supposed to be so good and he didn't agree because of how many he has fixed with serious engine troubles.
  9. If I were buying a new man's truck it would be F-250 with the gas 7.3. No turbos but great power but may not get super mpg.
  10. I did find a tool (I'm NOT getting) that works on the principle you were talking about. $133 https://www.amazon.com/OTC-7122R-Lock-Remover-Ford/dp/B000RHZPRY
  11. The thing about spit roll pins are as you insert anything inside, they expand to grip even tighter.
  12. Couldn't agree more. Drilling from the other side while under the car and getting it to line up would be a long shot and wouldn't save much from just drilling the pin. It's a 70's Ford. While most of the stuff is very easy to work on some of designs were not as good as later stuff as far as function. I'll get it out, I was just thinking maybe someone had I trick that I haven't heard of.
  13. If you read my first sentence, the pin is in blind hole, meaning there is no other side. It has to come out the way it went in.
  14. You guys have any tips or tricks for removing a small split type roll pin from a blind hole? It locks in the inner tie rod on a rack and pinion. I changed one some years ago and broke many drill bits trying to drill it out and now have to do the other side. If I remember right it is about 1/8", no more the 3/16". Keep in mind this will be done laying under the car.
  15. They have some taste but I never eat them without flavorings. Yellow ones have more flavor to me also. Some seem to have a little dirt taste.
  16. Thanks for all the info. From you friends comments it sounds like I'm not an outlier but maybe I'll try one again someday.
  17. It was firm when I got it, after reading up about it, I waited to feel a little difference when palming it and the top nub came off without issue. Yes I think it was ripe without being over and no brown inside. Don't know the species only it was from Mexico with rough skin and not glossy. 88 cents at Walmart. The texture before cooking was creamy/buttery but not mushy. It wasn't bad but I don't understand how someone like yourself that likes extreme hot smoky flavors enjoys these. BTW-my wife also confirmed my thoughts on it so it wasn't just me.
  18. I couldn't find where we were talking about it but I have never tried a avocado. Well I bought one and from a taste standpoint, can't see the draw. It taste like creamy nothing. So I took half, sliced it thin with the skin on, sprinkled it with Nu-Salt, pepper and garlic powder and baked it until it started to turn brown. It was so so. Took the other half, sliced it the same way and sprinkled it with Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning, baked the same and it was OK. The skin pulled right off and it was kind of like eating a spicy french fry. All in all, can't really see the excitement.
  19. Love it! Where did you find that?
  20. Bill, now you know you have to do right? 😁
  21. On a computer (not phone) click on your name in the upper righthand corner. Then account settings then left side of the page, signatures.
  22. The only thing that jumps out to me is, over and over again on the Ford forums, only use OEM Motorcraft coils, any others can mess with you.
  23. I have often wondered about furnace filters, which to buy. The smaller the micron the better it will filter but will also flow less air and clog quicker.
  24. $7.50 a patty for beans seems a little on the crazy side. From your link:
