I have the same thing as you. My screws are out 2 1/2 and it has been up to 75F and it is not doing what yours is doing. I would look for something loose.
The Dancer works for me but there has to be a better way. There is the bike vise too. www.bike-vise.com I saw something on a English site. I'll see if I can find it.
Don't have a F-4 but on the XX, you take a cover screw and screw it into the back of it (you will see a threaded hole). Wiggle it around while pulling. It is held in by a O ring.
I don't know. It's not like 90F there, right? How much difference in temperature are we talking about? I would be checking the carb mounting clamps plus anything else that might have come loose.
This is funny. Just yesterday the mrs. was making me a offer when I was getting ready for a ride. I told her that we would take care of things when I got back. She told me not to crash because I wouldn't be able to hold up my end. Man, I thought of that the whole ride. Like putting bad luck on me or something because she never says anything like that.
By a fuel filter, you mean that sock in the tank? My 97 doesn't have a real fuel filter like my Wing which has a in line one like a car. In cars, when the fuel filter is plugged, it will spudder or miss at high rpm when it is using to most fuel.
I got the Prexport boots (not the one on this page) about two weeks ago for $145.00 and really like them for the money. I wanted something the didn't make me look like I just came from the moon. So, I wanted black and to be able to wear them with the pants in or out. They are also nice to walk around in unlike some of the more $$$ boots.
Not sure about bikes but on cars it does make a difference. There is timed vacuum and port vacuum. In other words, no vacuum at idle with timed but always vac. with port.
I like to twist the grip from a standing start and worry about Synthetic oil with the clutch plates running in the oil. If this stuff is soooo slippery, do you think it will help the clutch plates lock up? I change oil often so I use the stuff from the ground that isn't energy conserving. I have read in a Mustang magazine that synthetic oil in the T-5 has burned up the sycro's in the trannsmission.
Last week I got pants, boots and gloves from them. What great service. The gloves they said they had in stock, they didn't. So I choose another pair and she gave them to me for the same price. Saved me about $15.00. Great people. Great site.
Pete, did you look at the stock main jets against the jet kit? To me (I could be wrong or just looked that way) but the stock jets looked bigger to me.
I just put the K&N kit ($35.00) this weekend in my 97. Man, the difference! I am sooo happy. It runs perfect. No flat spot or anything. Also put in new plugs and one tooth down front. Needles are 3rd down from top and piots out 2 &1/2. Now,I just don't know how to get a good 60 foot time at the track. The front end just wants to come up :!:
