  1. Thats dangerous advice for someone who lives in the middle of nowhere. :naughty:
  2. Yes, expandable foam in a can.
  3. Rock...Would you feel comfortable at 900 miles to start giving it full RPM's? Thanks for your input Jeff
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have been thinkin about Throttlemeister for a while but for now I'm enjoying the throttle. Yeah, I'm a little bored and tend to tinker alot w/ everything. The reason for the question is simply because I've done a lot of vibration reduction in golf clubs which are no more than hollow steel tubes (similar to clip ons) and you would be amazed how much a little foam reduces vibes. I agree that the XX is smooth but could you imagine it even smoother? Might actually be a bad thing, could fall asleed.
  5. New guy here again. Was wondering what mileage you considered your XX properly and completely broke in. I know there are a million theories on break-in so lets not go there. Just want to see what others did. I personally did three-300 mile periods of varied RPM ceilings. 1st 300 I pimped around town @ 4K ceiling, 2nd 300 I raised ceiling to 5K and last 300 to 6K. I feel its ready to rumble now . For the record, this is my first Honda. I've been on Kawi's for the past 10 years.
  6. I'm new to this board and was wondering for those of you who changed out your bar ends from the stockers, did you notice more vibration in the bars? Has anyone ever foamed inside the bar to further reduce the vibes? You know, Great Stuff or similar. I've heard about Bar Snakes for cruisers but it seems that foaming could do a lot. I work in the golf business here in humid Fl. and being summertime with the season all but coming to a complete halt, I seem to have a lot of extra time on my hands for tinkering. Thanks in advance Jeff
  7. unfortunately this is a small problem w/ this bike. the front is unadjustable and the rear only has spring preload and rebound damping. check your owners manual for those adjustments and yes it is a little springy.
  8. Who has which hugger and what kind of experience was it dealing w/ the company and how much? Anyone in particular to stay away from? Thanks in advance.
  9. yes I'm new to this board. Now that I read my post it does seem a bit.....ah, well... SQUIDISH. The question is however simply based on the fact that the majority of posts I've read are regarding VFR bars. While I'm on this subject, what are the differences,if any, between Helibars and the VFR bars? I'm coming off riding a Kawi ZRX1200R for the past 2 years, which fit me very well. The look and styling got a bit old so I purchased a XX and would like to achieve a better level of comfort. Very happy w/ this machine!
  10. I'm wondering if anyone installed Helibars for the XX and how you liked 'em. Easy install? Stock hydraulic lines OK or do you need longer ones? I'm 5'8" and the reach is just a smidge long. Thanks !

    bar end removal...

I did grab the bar end. I've never seen anytihing like this. I'm afraid my last resort may be to use a vice grip to hold it while I TRY to bust it loose. I've never had one this tight and i'm just afraid to strip the phillips head.
  13. I'm new to the site and am having a hell of a time getting the bar ends off my 2002 XX. Cant get the screw to break loose. Any words of wisdom? By the way, i'm mechanically inclined just clueless here.
