  1. Akra/w PC3. Love it. Wheelies easier, much lighter, and sounds fucking evil as hell
  2. The ducts were so far into the box, that thing wasn't moving. I could barely wiggle the airbox, even after the coils were removed. I guess I just wasn't being forceful enough. Thanks again Carlos for taking your time to make the write-up. I wouldn't even have attempted this w/out it. I still feel pretty good for getting as far as I did w/out screwing anything up. Thanks again, Lance
  3. Am I missing something? I'm a total hack in the garage, but w/ Carlos' effort in writing up directions I thought I could handle it. Dove in this morning and noticed a tube I had to disconnect from what looked like the evap canister under the tank. Since I'm a hack, I have to follow directions to a tee, so this naturally set me back a few minutes. :???: I read and reread Carlos' writeup and no mention of the tube. I gambled and disconnected this tube. No apparent problems like fuel spilling everywhere so..... O.K.-so I have the tank propped up and proceed to take off the airbox cover and temp sensor. Then I remove velocity stacks. Then I removed bolts holding coils. Removed air filter element and then tried to remove air box to gain access to plugs. This is where I ran into problems. The air intakes, and from what I could tell at least two hoses prevented the airbox from removal. As far as I could tell, I would have had to remove the fairings/ and or front cowl to even attempt to get the airbox out. Not to mention I had to partially remove my left fairing to get the bolts back into the coil brackets. That is a very tight fit, and then when you drop a bolt into the abyss...forget it. At least I was able to replace the air cleaner element. That thing was dirty as hell. Even a dead wasp was in my box...uhemm...airbox. Couldn't even see through it holding it up to the sun. So in conclusion, at least my stock plugs are Iridium tipped so at 11K it's probably not an issue I need to deal w/ promptly. Lastly, I'm guessing Carlos didn't mention the extra tubes/hoses because his is a 49-stater. The airducts have to be different after '00 or on Cali bikes, because there was no way in hell that box was coming out. Heading out up the coast tomorrow. Pics will follow.
  4. Upon further review, I see it is infact the same. The picture had the lines that Jaws drew (to show where to cut the lock) superimposed on the housing and I couldn't see it clearly. Heading out up the coast in a couple days and I know I'll be jonesin' for that lock after all the testimonials. My hand (I broke it snowboarding two years ago) was feeling fatigued after only 300 mi. yesterday. Paully had the throttle lock and it sure looked relaxing resting/stretching that throttle hand once in a while. Thanks, Lance
  5. Thanks for the link veloxx, but my throttle housing is different, and so is the lock. Damn. Carlos, thanks for the advice on the NEP. Since I can't go the UK way on the Vista mod, I'll do the NEP. I think I'll just ride up and get it at Chaparral. Paully and I did 300 mi. today and that lock would have been nice at times. I guess the only stupid question left to ask is, "is the throttle housing different on an '02 compared to your '00? I ask because the write-up on the UK site shows a different one than I have, and I don't want to be in same situation :???: Thanks again, Lance P.S.- One of these days someone will have a golf question.... and well, I'm the "Swampnut" or "Joe" on that topic. Bring it on  Luckily, we are all too busy riding and don't have time to play.
  6. I noticed the thumb control would be too low also. Furbird, would love to see the pics if convenient for ya. Thanks, Lance Appreciate the tips on Throttlemeister, but since I already have the Cruise...I might as well try.
  7. Just got done doing the HP Coolant/ Water Wetter/ Distilled Water change about 10 minutes ago. While trying to bleed the air, I guess I let it get too hot w/ the radiator cap off. I was "snapping" the throttle per the manual and shit started flowing over (not much 6 oz. or so). Shut engine off, refilled w/ water. Hope it works. Still feel better than taking it to the rapists (service dept.) BTW, has anyone noticed the diagram of the siphon hose from the reserve is fucked up. They show siphoning the radiator, not the reserve tank. For people like me who have to follow directions to a tee it pisses me off. Now on to the oil change... Lance
  8. Thanks TeXXaSS! I'm going to the garage right now to try it. Lance
  9. I'm having trouble fitting mine. Just got it today from AZ Motorsports. Honda dual throttle. Called them to see if I have right one, and she said that Vista Cruise doesn't make one for the XX. Did you guys modify?? Just went back to main site and Carlos says only NEP w/ modification will work. Tim? Veloxx? In the mean time, I will check IXXRA. Thanks, Lance
  10. Seems like it's a popular option to buy online. I noticed Chaparral Motorsports (SoCal) has special package deals right now. They have the Battlax 020 for $197 for both. Mmmmm....might be an option. :???:
  11. Just wondering how other people handle this very big pain in the ass  What do you guys pay for this? I'm about $300 after tax installed w/ wheels on bike. This is about the ONLY thing I will take my bike in for, and I would love to eliminate these fuckers for good. (Dealers/ Service shops) Thanks in advance, Lance
  12. Just placed an order w/ them: Air Cleaner Element $27.63 Right mirror cover (don't ask  ) $16.72 Oil filter $7.79 2 crush washers $.40 3 cans of Polish @ $3.77 ea= 11.31 All this shipped for $7. $70.85 Total
  13. Ron Ayers is the shit. You can get a few cans of Polish for like 3.60 ea. at the same time like bar10dah said. Lance

    PC II Cable

Hey Marc, if you're in a pinch, or want to change something now, give me a PM. My computer is right by my front door and the 10' cable they supplied me is plenty long enough to reach my bike. Lance
  15. Just ordered a Micron Race Stand for 107.00 shipped to SoCal. I felt is was worth the money for the stand for two reasons: 1. Loss of weight. I went w/ the Akra full system and the weight loss feels so good, I don't want to add any w/ replacing that heavy ass center stand. 2. It looks like shit. Lance
