  1. I think this one was posted on the cbrxx site a little while ago http://www.cbrxx.com/for-sale-wanted/6281-...nv-89141-a.html
  2. found 1 broken white wire between the 2 power commander connectors... hypothesis: white wire making intermittent contact caused surging issue... we'll see!
  3. UPDATE! Today I was planning on checking the plug wires AGAIN... I fired her up and tried to rev it up, completely dead stick... revving like a harley, no guts whatsoever... took a peek at the power commander, no reading at all...WHAT?!? I tugged on the display, and it sprung to life, throttle was AWESOME, screamed up the dial, no hesitation. I moved the display again, bike died completely... I'm spending the rest of the night with my soldering iron and some shrink tube, hopefully when i'm done checking all these connections, my bike will be running like a champ again... Fingers Crossed!
  4. Thanks for the info Stan... FPR SEEMS okay, not noticing any fuel down that vacuum hose anywhere I pulled plug wire 3, trimmed it back about 1/4 inch and rethreaded it onto the plug cap, seems to have helped a little bit, so i'll try it on the rest of them. (noticed a crack in the rubber on #3) Ordering some new spark plug caps if I find anything else fishy there... might have something to do with a worn chain, too... but there is definitely an engine issue here (there is some missing in neutral, too) I'm considering taking it up to the local stealer and letting them diagnose it if i don't figure it out soon. Hopefully they can get her done quick and I'll be at 100% for nexxt
  5. actually seems to be a bit worse as temps go up... more noticeable at higher rpm's at lower speeds... 1st second gear between 30 and 40 mph but is present regardless of rpm range
  6. My 2001 XX is running kinda funky... It seems to have plenty of power, but when trying to maintain speed, it seems to be VERY jerky. (if i whack open the throttle she runs like a raped ape, but maintaining speed is jerky) no FI light I just replaced the plugs and that seemed to help a little bit, but the issue is still there. I also just ran a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through it. it "feels" like a spark problem...but i'm not 100% sure any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. +1, happened to me on my 77 CB750, the bike died.... I got launched into the mud in this guy's front yard, and the bike ended up tumbling through the air...something like 8 times over...
  8. if you really want the back tire to skid, just get her up to speed, clutch, shift to first and drop clutch.... screeeech!!!!!!!!!!! (soooo much engine drag)
  9. What's with all the great deals in jersey? the guy I bought mine off of just bought a "hawly" and when him an his wife wanna go for a ride, they usually take the "hawly" the bird is a "hawt" bike, but it just sits there...
  10. John's got the plastic dealys for $6 and some change, and you get a bag of 10 edit: http://www.bikebits.us/productdetail_singl...p;ProductID=298 $6.95
  11. many thanks, i might just start doing them myself...
  12. Doesn't friction get in the way? I balanced a next gen CT scanner rotor within a gram, but at the time we were using an air bearing, it had a coefficient of friction of .00002 so any imbalance anywhere on that rotor was vividly apparent just by stoping motion, seeing which way it turned, and where it stopped. (point directly between the start point and stop point was the heavy side, add a gram or 2 to the opposite side...depending on acceleration)
  13. I would, I do car tires, but I don't have a machine to balance them...(excessive wheel vibration is not something I want on the bird)
  14. I dropped my wheels off at the local Kawasucky dealer on Monday(no honda shops left in the county). This place is pretty barren, and empty most of the time, so I knew they wouldn't be busy. I was hoping for same day service, but the guy behind the counter told me it would probably be "overnight" service, and they would be done on tuesday...but he would call me when they were ready. tuesday, No call wednesday, no call thursday, no call yet... what gives? 3 great riding days down the toilet so far... :icon_banghead: what kind of service have you guys recieved?
  15. i got a set of pirelli diablo stradas comin back from mount & balance today, i burned through the metz m3's WAY too fast
  16. there was a set on Egay for like $115, don't know if it ended yet or not... edit, Nope, still there http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CBR11...sspagenameZWDVW not sure on the details though...
  17. yosh is a respectable brand, and no, you don't need to remap with most slip-ons. You can, but you shouldn't have to...
  18. I'm definitely in now, I just bought a center stand for the 'bird...
  19. not to seem clueless or out of the loop, but what exactly is this for? is it an "add on" for the centerstand so it can be used with a new full exhaust (akra, 2 bros, etc...) I'd be interested if this is the case, and they will be made quickly, and inexpensive...
  20. I assume you are serious since I don't see a smiley. And I don't have anything to lose. I have heard of someone using a crescent wrench to tweek a rotor, and I was thinking of using a rubber mallet. Can this really be done? And my brother in law is a machinist, I wonder if machining it flat would work. if you have a good metal lathe, you could turn it without much trouble
  21. if I didn't already have a full akra, I'd be all over these
