  1. I forgot serving ideas. Avocado is fantastic with this. More fresh cilantro on top. More lime juice. Shredded cabbage Radishes are also really awesome with this. Corn tortilla, corn chips Thin sliced or small chopped white onion on top
  2. Real food, real fun, not very hot unless you specifically use a lot of hot chiles. I use a variety of medium and mild, then I can add some hot sauce to tune it, and change the flavor for variety. Hatch reds, chilaquiles, ancho, etc etc. I typically use 4-5 types. The giant corn is savory, not sweet, with a very chewy and meaty quality. Very satisfying. Three medium onions (or about, whatever, not critical), diced but don't need to be super small. Again, whatever you like. Saute in the Instant Pot if you have one, or stove if you're still living in the 90s. Two pounds (ish) of peeled hominy corn, soaked for at least 8 hours but preferably 12-20 hours. This is called "mote pelado" and may be called nixtamal. But some nixtamal still has the husks, and I find that annoying to eat. All pelado has the husks off and is nixtamal (treated with an acid). https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01MUUO5IU?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Cut the stems off a shitload of dried red chiles, shake out the seeds (not important to get them all out), and toast them in a wok or large pan. You want the pan on the hotter end, and for them to just slightly smolder and darken. Stir often. I use a LOT of them, because they are the star of this meal. You want a rich thick red heavy soup at the end of it. I use enough to about half fill the large wok shown below, twice, cooking each batch separately. Put them into a blender in reasonable sized batches along with 1-2 bunches of cilantro, and about 6 cups of broth or water. You can add more later as needed. Add a bit of potassium chloride, or salt if you must, 1-2 tbsp cumin, same amount of Mexican oregano, in the first batch. Also about 1/4 lime juice is good, not critical. Blend smooth. Add to the onions you already cooked, and put in the corn. Set the IP to custom pressure cook, 30 minutes, high pressure. Allow it to natural release (15-ish minutes). Set the IP to slow cook on low, cook at least three hours, but five is nice. Stir about every 30 minutes. If you don't have an Instant Pot, you can just slow cook or simmer it all for about 6-8 hours. You can, of course, add meat if you'd like to reduce the nutritional value...
  3. US regulatory authorities said it was fine, it's in the article. I know you trust them.
  4. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/chinese-super-cows-clone-milk-cattle Snippets: Chinese scientists said they have successfully cloned three "super cow" calves that, once fully grown, are capable of producing 50% more milk than the average American cow. The cloning experiment began last year at Northwest University of Agricultural and Forestry Science and Technology in Shaanxi, China. Scientists sampled tissue from cows across China and used what's called the somatic cell nuclear transfer method to create embryos which were then placed inside surrogate cows. The calves will eventually produce 18 tons of milk per year, or 100 tons of milk in their lifetime, Chinese scientists said. By comparison, the average U.S. cow produces almost 12 tons of milk a year, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data. Officials from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have said meat and milk from a cloned cow is just "as safe to eat as food from conventionally bred animals." I mean, sure, yeah, since it's not really all that safe or healthy.
  5. EFI? Sometimes I don't ride the motorcycle because I have to move two--TWO--ebikes to get out.
  6. In the SW environment, I've never had tank issues at all. Even from years of old gas. But jets clog so fucking easily. I don't know how many neighbors I've helped with a wire and some carb cleaner. One summer of not riding, and a bike/quad/generator may be fucked when riding season starts.
  7. I've used the bulk powder in two smoothies; banana peanut butter, and pineapple coconut vanilla. I used a big ass heaping teaspoon before reading that the dosage is 1/3 TSP, which seems like nothing. Can you OD? The flavor was imperceptible in the peanut-banana, and barely "green" in the pineapple. Smoothie tip: A tiny pinch of potassium chloride/salt and cayenne pepper wake up the flavor but you won't actually taste either. Moriah who is very sensitive to heat and pepper flavors says it's better with it. Oat milk substitute is my new go-to for smoothies. It has an airier feel when blended, like it has become slightly foamed/whipped. Standard canned full-fat coconut milk gives a super rich feel to it while still being a whole food and not too crazy in calories for the amount uses. Probably around 2 TBSP per large smoothie.
  8. Well, this is retarded, but I had totally missed this. I don't know how. I have to send it to an email address, so will confirm I have the right one by PM. I have four total to give out, so three after Dave, if anyone wants them.
  9. The Toyota Subarus, or Subaru Subaru, or the Fuji Subaru, or.......?
  10. From the general scuttlebutt on mechanic forums and subs, it seems like their 4-cylinder engine issues are not behind them yet.
  11. Ok, looks like they added the feature to remove it. I duplicated the problem, removed the bar, problem gone. However, there's no way to leave it on the desktop and not on tablets. I found it semi useful, not sure if others did. But I'm happy to live without it, if that's what makes more sense.
  12. Another must have. So much so that my friend's coworkers all say "hand me the life-changers" after I introduced him and his crew to them. https://www.amazon.com/CHP-170-Micro-Cutter-3-Pack/dp/B0765NMV68/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2EHBW1NRVC4WV&keywords=chp-170&qid=1675354100&s=hi&sprefix=chp-170%2Ctools%2C163&sr=1-2
  13. And some new keycaps. You should walk into an Apple Store and ask nicely. At least for Moriah, they've always been free.
  14. LOL, what a retard. I can't believe you watched it.
  15. This brings up a point about learning whether you have obstructive or neurological apnea, and the various ways to help each.
  16. Before this morning, the latter. What did I buy this week? The powder should work well in smoothies. I had been using a multi-veggie powder but ran out. This prompted me to get back on it.
  17. https://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-fat-blocking-and-appetite-suppressing-effects-of-thylakoids/?utm_source=NutritionFacts.org&utm_campaign=774fe616e7-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_7_26_2022_12_48_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_40f9e497d1-774fe616e7-28710906&mc_cid=774fe616e7&mc_eid=6bf37ade4d Good video, short and to the point. Summary: Thylakoids, a naturally occurring chemical, was shown to reduce overall hunger and subsequent calorie consumption. It specifically reduces the desire for sweets. Here is a decent study on a supplemented diet relative to weight loss: https://nutritionj.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12937-020-00601-4 Results After the 12-week intervention, there were significant decreases in weight (− 6.97 ± 0.52 vs. -3.19 ± 0.72 kg; P < 0.001), waist circumference (− 7.78 ± 2.50 vs. -3.73 ± 1.40 cm; P < 0.001), fat mass (− 5.19 ± 0.53 vs. -1.36 ± 0.39 kg; P < 0.001), and insulin levels (− 5.40 ± 1.86 vs. -1.19 ± 0.85 μU/mL; P < 0.001) in the spinach-derived thylakoid group compared to the placebo group. Furthermore, insulin resistance markers and serum levels of testosterone decreased significantly in the thylakoid group compared to the placebo group (P < 0.05). The changes in other parameters did not show significant differences between the two groups. And one on reported satiety/hunger: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4600649/ Results: Compared to placebo, consuming the spinach extract reduced hunger (p < 0.01) and longing for food over 2 hours (p < 0.01) and increased postprandial plasma glucose concentrations (p < 0.01). There were no differences in plasma lipids and energy intake at dinner, but males showed a trend toward decreased energy intake (p = 0.08).
  18. Are you running the latest iOS? Any modified fuckery on your browser? Because mine looks fine. Current iOS, Safari.
  19. LOL. I'm gonna repeat this because I care. Mike, I have many friends who say that the CPAP has been literally a life-changing event. One says he's pretty sure that his recent $20k/year raise was only possible because of increase productivity and "smarts" from not being sleep/oxygen deprived. This guy used to fall asleep in my truck if I walked into a Circle K while driving out to a job with me. Now he's got all day energy. Spend the money and effort for this, you're worth it.
  20. Yes!! For sure. In fact there's a lot of bodily housecleaning going on during sleep. So basically just eat dinner earlier (hard for me) and push past breakfast or avoid it (easy for me), done.
  21. I put my symptoms into WebMD, and it says I have prostate cancer and I'm pregnant. I had no idea that this thread would devolve into typical Youtube medical disinformation, and am very disappointed in myself for that.
  22. Probably not, but I'll look again. When that was first requested I asked the vendor and they said no, but it was put into the suggestions/requests.
