  1. Rearranged my garage art. Most of my bikes shown on the wall.
  2. When I was 50 I was capable of all your goals. I was running 5Ks in around 22 minutes. Today, at 76, that time would be at least doubled.
  3. Yes
  4. Those are great goals. Good luck to you. The one thing I would be very careful about is pushing limits on lifting. I tore my rotator cuff about 4 years ago lifting too much. Your joints aren't as flexible as they used to be. I just turned 76 and though I work out 4-5 times a week, i don't try and push max weights anymore, I just try to maintain. Fortunately I was blessed with great parents, meaning great genetics. My sister says we hit the genetic jackpot. At 6'-2" I weigh between 185-190 for at least the last 40 years.
  5. Thanks. I just added that to the original post. Maricopa AZ

  7. Where did you get the tubing and what size? type?
  8. Which ones do you buy? Not all microfiber towels are the same.
  9. That's quite a good idea, especially if you have a disagreement and something to remind you of why you love your spouse. Good on you Dave.
  10. Looks like a Harley
  11. Thanks. That is an amazing build, that guy did a great job.
  12. Here are the part numbers used on my XX 16952-MBB-003 Screen, fuel strainer 16953-ML0-034 Cover set, petcock
  13. it still wheel stands when I hit 2nd gear full throttle and the front end gets quite light when hitting third. A little pull on the bars and the front wheel would definitely come off the ground in third. Scary-fast for me.
  14. Where did you find this pic? I'd like to see more pics from different angles
  15. Could very well be. I also replaced the vacuum line with a longer one. The existing line was brittle and a bit too short so always difficult to get it connected to the tank. On another note, sure the XX is 25 years old, many bikes are much more powerful, lighter and faster. But the XX is still a scary-fast machine. And sexy!!
  16. I rode my XX yesterday. I was surprised how easy it started. Normally it will sputter for a while when first started and the choke on. It smoothed out almost immediately to a nice even idle. It ran very smooth and very strong. Again, I'm not sure why but is definitely running smoother and more powerful.
  17. I have 1 Kobalt utility knife in the kitchen junk drawer and one in the garage at each house. Easy blade replacement. And the Stanley blades.
  18. I just took the bike out for a run, ran it up to 140. Maybe it's my imagination but it seems to run smoother and stronger. The cleaning of the tank and the new filter may have something to do with it. I don't know if the diaphragm not functioning properly would have had any effect. Now to lube the chain and wax the bike.
  19. Thanks for the video and all the other posts with info. And thanks to everyone else who provided help. Because I wasn't sure what the problem was, the next morning I took the tank to the local MC shop. They came to the same conclusion and replaced the parts. They charged me the same prices that I saw online and only $25 for their labor. They got the genuine Honda parts quite quickly and no shipping charges. They also replaced the filter which I was unaware of until I saw the video you provided.
  20. I pulled the tank off the bike with the petcock valve in the closed position. The minute I opened the valve gas flowed out, which it is not supposed open unless pulled by vacuum. Gas also flowed out this bottom nozzle, which doesn't connect to anything and is never supposed to do.
  21. There was what I thought was an oil spot on the garage floor under my XX last week after I rode it. Upon research it seems its leaking gas and that has washed residue oil with it as it dripped to the floor. I can't determine exactly where the gas is coming from. I pulled the tank off and the right side gas connection is leaking gas. Isn't the gas valve only supposed to open when there is a vacuum. It appears the diaphragm is leaking. Anyone have an experience like this?
  22. Did you notice what appears to be cameras next to the right turn signal on the first two blue bikes. They also appear to have LED turn signals. I did find these on ebay, may be the same https://www.ebay.com/itm/361025134214?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818143230%26meid%3Da9f0272c6a08486e922746097bc27a67%26pid%3D101224%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D134303914031%26itm%3D361025134214%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4429486%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWebV9BertRefreshRanker&_trksid=p4429486.c101224.m-1
  23. And the depending on the car the caliper was probably under $70.
  24. Same here. Go to the forums of the vehicles you are interested in and search for the problems. A number of years ago when my Audi S8 transmission was having shifting issues I did a bunch of searches and finally found the problem and solution on the BMW forum. BMWs use the same transmission which, according to Audi isn't supposed to require any type of service. According to BMW the transmission should be serviced and new fluid and filter installed at 75,000 miles. I had the transmission serviced and problem solved. When I bought the S8 I knew about the air suspension issues as well as possible intake manifold issue. Nothing on the Audi sites mentioned the transmission. I think that is because on the BMW site some of the cars are more performance oriented and the owners are much harder on the transmissions. What I also discovered is the the ZF 6HP transmission can be also found in certain models of Bentley, Astin Martin, Jaguar, Ford/Lincoln, Maserati, Kia, Hyundai and Land Rover. So if your concerned about the turbocharger, find out who makes them and what other vehicles carry them. Borg Warner makes oem turbochargers for both Ford and Chevy trucks.
