I did something similar for my bike when I was still riding but hardwired into the bike electric as I found a compatible remote that used a 12V battery. Then Swampnut the fucking enabling enabler, brought the Smart Wi-Fi garage door opener to my attention and for about $25 I was then able to open my garage doors with my phone or even better with my voice with Google through my phone. Not sure if you have your phone mounted on the bike while you're riding or if you use a headset paired with your phone but both are much easier options then wiring up a remote just for use on the bike. Anyhow, shelved all the remotes and don't need to use homelink in the cars anymore. It's nice that my garage door will open with the phone app, voice control or you can even set it so once you get within a certain distance of your house, it will automatically open the garage door. Nope...it was some kind of rubber membrane. I thought is was tar paper too but it was stretchy and broke not tore when pulled apart. Definitely was planning on screwing down the new sub-floor.

Honestly my biggest issue with going over the old floor was that the finished height would fuck up everything. It would have been way higher than the marble door threshold for one thing and and if I raised that it would have been a weird tripping hazard. Also I didn't know what the integrity of the old floor was and didn't want to risk putting new over old and have that potentially fail.

Well then I wouldn't have had anything to complain about. Also...I have an aversion to half-assed home upgrade jobs.

Been doing the demo work for my bathroom remodel and finally got to the tile floor this weekend. It's a circa 1970's bathroom and I have got to give kudo's to whoever laid the floor because those ceramic tiles most likely would have never ever ever come loose. They were laid on a bed of about 3/4" mortar which was on top of steel mesh on top of a rubber membrane on top of the floor sheathing (plywood). What I assumed would be a one day job turned into three but the good news is that I finally for the first time got to use the "jackhammer" setting on my hammer drill. I don't think there would have been a way to do it without some type of a jackhammer. I started out just hammering on the tiles with a little 2-pound sledge and that took about 30 minutes to do the damage in the first pic. Second pic is about 3/4 done with the jackhammer. Must have moved about a 500 pounds of debris. I'm getting too old for this shit.

Bleach works too. 1/2 cup bleach per 1 gallon of water. Can't say it won't hurt wildlife but generally most animals are smart enough to not lick bleach. Not sure about the wildlife that lives in your neighborhood.

When my kids were smaller the passenger airbag light in my wife's Avalanche would toggle on/off sometimes but that was a 2002 and I would expect that the sensors would have gotten better by now. 100lbs seems right at the threshold for activation weight. Do you have any seat covers or pads on the seat? Do you know whether it will go on if your passenger bears down at all on the seat? My understanding is that there can be multiple sensors (like up to eight) in the seat to detect the weight so one or more could be faulty. Until it's fixed you could have your passenger sit with a 40lb. bag of sand or cat litter in their lap...

Hmmm...the dinner and dessert I am preparing tonight for four people will have used a total of 18 eggs. Specifically 16 egg yolks and 2 full eggs. Also at least two sticks of butter. I will rename it Deadly but Delicious.

I had a Trane unit in my house when we bought it, no idea how old it was but it worked great...for two years...and then we had very similar problems as yours. They replaced "boards" and other widgets and dicked around with it for weeks but it still wouldn't work right. One of the techs spent hours talking to the Trane regional tech support fuckery center during the whole ordeal and they suggested to just start replacing more and more parts. Finally got fed up and had the whole system - compressor, handler, drain pan, return plenum and supply trunk replaced with a Carrier Infinity 5 stage variable condenser and variable speed air handler. Like night and day and my normal electric bill during cooling season went down by at least 40%. Also takes my house from 75 to 68 in about 15 minutes and can barely even hear the compressor running outside even at the top stage 5 speed. The old one you could hear inside depending on where you were in the house. It's all digital with a digital wall and wi-fi thermostat that I can control from my phone as well. Gives me full system stats and control. So I agree that Trane sucks but wanting an analog system is just a pretty retarded notion. I am however eager to monitor your journey in finding the the right A/C system for you. Trane might have been a top brand for reliability at one time but I heard a lot of negative comments from different sources when I was shopping around for a new system of how their quality and support have really tanked in the last decade or so.

I have some advice...and I mean this in the nicest way. You're a high level executive. If you can manage your business and all the people who report to you effectively, you should be able to manage yourself and your meal-time better. If you had someone reporting to you who was doing something wrong and their excuse was, "sorry, bad habit I can't seem to break". would you accept that?

How many mils thick should the bag be? What's the best way to secure it? If there's excess bag flapping around in the wind it might make too much noise. Is there a good website where garage bags are compared? It's got to be current up to date info though as garage bag data from last year or older is useless. He'd probably have to buy a whole box of bags even though only one is needed and that's how they get you...big garbage bag corporate conspiracy.

Yeah but that's gonna really hold in the moisture underneath. It's probably already rotting the boards, rusting the frame and compromising the wheel bearings. I think maybe rigging up a fan system to create proper airflow would be a good idea.

I think we are all missing the most salient point here which is....Who fucking cares? I can honestly say I have not spent one second of my life worrying about any bearings in anything I have ever owned. If a bearing goes bad...I fix it. Then I move on.

Oh it's a game changer for cooking inside especially if you are going to be using cast iron regularly, cook fish on the stove top or do any indoor smoking. Most home range hoods are woefully under powered though (300 CFM or less) and the recirculating ones are total garbage. They should be at least 600 CFM and when I remodeled my kitchen I put in a 750 CFM model with 6" duct. They are also good for keeping the temp down.

You need to up your range hood game. Connect it to your shop dust collection system.

I can't imagine hating breakfast. I don't eat a full breakfast everyday but on the occasion where I am in the mood I find great joy and pleasure in bacon, sausage, eggs and hash browns or home-fries. Eggs Benedict is also a treat. Making and eating a nice full breakfast with my wife on the weekend is a welcome indulgence that transcends the concern for nutritional or health values. The food and the aromas from cooking breakfast create comfort and set a warm ambiance for the day. IMO sometimes a meal is more than just the sum of feeding one's body.

A nice occasional treat that's not shitty is a real bagel made in NYC, outlying areas of NYC or possibly north-eastern areas of NJ. Everything else is a shitty bagel or in this case a "bagel shaped bread product". I'm all for people seeking "healthy" ingredients but stop appropriating the original delicious product and pretending it's made better.
