Vista Cruise Installation

One of our members here bought a Vista Cruise from me to put on his Bird.

Anyone have any pictures or write ups on the Vista Installation on the Bird ?

I know I have seen a nice write-up with pictures but can't find it now to send it to him.

I have watched it being installed but never actually did one myself. I think he is to embarrassed to ask for help in getting his installed since it is normally such an easy job to complete on the Bird.

Any help would be appreciated.

There's the picture, and all it takes is:

take a short self-tapping screw, and screw through the flat tab on the unit onto the bottom of the switchgear drain hole. Drill another small drawin hole in the low corner.

BTW, read the thread... I had to take some material off of the one side of where the cam engages to get it to the correct tension.

Or this one Alternative Vista Cruise Install :icon_surprised:

I actually fitted mine using a combination of the 2 methods. The mounting position was as per the first link but I also used a screw into the switch housing between the throttle cables just to make sure and I trimmed the ring on the throttle for clearance as in the second link :icon_think:

I find it works well fitted facing the faring because it is out of the way of the starter switch and there are no clearance issues with the tank :icon_surprised:

Sometimes with thick winter gloves it can be slightly tricky to activate but it is something you get used to and I did narrow the thickness of the lever because of my large hands and the gloves rubbing :icon_confused:

John, How much are you selling the cruise controls for?

Cruise control is for old guys !! :icon_biggrin:

Or lazy guys, or guys with arthritis in their hands.

Or old guys. :icon_biggrin:

I think I fit all three categories, thank you very much. :icon_biggrin:
