ptxyz
while doing the pair delete and changing spark plugs (i now realize i coulda left the lowers on...), i noticed this. appears to be an oil tube, perhaps 30-40% restricted with that kink. should i be concerned? is this something that can easily be replaced? it's not clear how the tube attaches on the upper end. i also see a slight bend to the lower right corner of the radiator. this poor bike musta had a pretty hard down on the right side. on a perhaps related note, i've had the oil analyzed (pdf report attached below) and there's a bit of copper indicating wear of a bushing or bearing. could it be a flow restriction here is causing accelerated wear somewhere downstream? bummer, when i "upgraded" i just traded one set of issues for another, ha ha! 01 CRB 1100XX-081416.pdf Edited August 21, 2016 by ptxyz
redxxrdr
Could it be item #1? A oil pipe Shown here? If so, it looks like it would change out.
ptxyz
thanks for the hint, craig. hadn't looked at the part diagrams yet, i think it #9 here; http://www.ronayers.com/oemparts/a/hon/506c1ffbf870023420a2f606/oil-pump if that's the case, less worrying as it's a return tube. kinda strange, the lower end is held in place by a stay plate but, there doesn't appear to be anything similar on the upper end. Zero Knievel
If it's not leaking, leave it. I don't see any serious obstruction to worry about.
superhawk996
It's a return, #9. As far as whether it'll be a problem, all depends on how much oil needs to flow through it. Looks like you'd have to drop the pan to replace it.

If that is so and being a return, I would have to try to forget about it but things like that bother me.
