JB4XX
How often do you swap out a seat for a new one?
OrganDonor
Mine aren't exactly on a schedule, or anything. They get replaced when they break (the plastic attachments or feet), the finish comes off, or we get a new toilet. Nothing is as lame as getting a NEW toilet and putting on an OLD seat! I'm not allowed to buy toilets seats. Many years ago my ex-wife allowed me to pick out a replacement seat. I came home with one of the public restroom type, that have the cutout in the front so guys don't have to raise it up to unleash the golden stream. FTW! JB4XX
Good idea. Do you need a long barrel to get your aim right?

tvking
I'm a fan of the padded seats (I have a tender tushy) and after a couple years the cover tends to crack. Then they need replacing promptly, because they start to pinch.

Zuus
Usually only when I can't scrub of the shit stains from the splatter underneath Most folks change them out when they move into a pre-owned house, then whenever the wife changes decor. I have done remodels on houses with 40 year old toilet seats.
RXX
I just got a new seat for the daughters' bathroom and they sell this new kind that doesn't "drop", rather, it has some sort of resistance unit on it so that either or both parts sllooowwwllllyyy lower by themselves. Pretty cool. BTW, I have a used toilet seat from my 2 teenage daughters' bathroom for sale. Bidding starts at $150.

LogoMan
I change the toilet seat when the paint starts peeling and sticking to my ass. Don't ask how long it took me to figure out there were paint chips stuck to my ass.

Elefant
I suppose it'd be determined by how cheap the previous seat was AND how big an ass you and your SO own? Mostly hers.......
