PGA XX
Is there a big difference besides HP being synthetic? I was thumbing through my service manual and it recommends GN 4. Holy crap...I've been using HP. Ron Ayers sells the GN for like $3, and the HP for $6. If the GN is what I'm supposed to be using, I'll save the money  2002 w/ 8800 mi. Thanks, Lance P.S.- Yes, I did research this topic and couldn't find anything on this, although I'm sure you guys are sick of the fucking oil questions

SwampNut
The Rotella synth is fantastic also. Not as long a track record as M1, but still known to be safe.
RodeRash
I have been using Rotella in my bikes, and Rotella synthetic in my truck. They are all still running.

blackhawkxx
synthetic in my truck I haven't used synthetic in my truck and it's still running but then being a Ford, it will run forever unlike some gm junks around.
SwampNut
Same with the van. 141k miles, doesn't leak or burn a drop. I see the same-year GM vans sold as junk.
REXX
Strange...my '91 S10 pickup has 236,000 miles on it's 4.3L V-6. Doesn't leak or burn oil either.
SwampNut
Did GM put their truck chassis in any vans? I bought this one specifically because it's the truck drivetrain and chassis. Or maybe GM van buyers just beat the shit out of them. They were all junkers.
