  1. Good for you ! And yey !!! for HONDA (not the dealership  ) Btw, I worked in few dealerships and each one had some different rulles about their service. In the most recent one, they separated the departments (sales, service, parts...) so each one was like a little shop. Each manager was told to find ways to make money...And not every way was good for the customer  When mechanics would come to parts counter to shop for their accessories or parts they needed for their side jobs, they would get the employee discount. But when parts people (i.e me..) would need service, service mgr. would cut part of the labor time, but !!!! we would have to buy the parts through service dept. at full retail !!!! :banghead: Yep, they wanted to get the comission from the parts... Piece of advice.....If you go to the service (I said "IF" !), and you get quoted the price, ask them how much will you save when you remove the bodywork yourself ! I do that everytime with my service I go to, and they charge me less time.... Plus I don't have to worry about new scratches and broken off tabs... Cheers,
  2. How about this ? http://www.riderhaus.com/index.php/imageca...age/list/110/0/ Cheers,
  3. This is the Yamaha part # 4JH-81960-01-00 for '99/'00 R1, from this website: http://www.yamahapart.com/ You can view the part number (#29 for '99 and #38 for '00) when you place it in the basket. They sell it for $75 BTW. Cheers,
  4. Herb, pm me your e-mail.... Cheers,
  5. I'd tilt the Wingrack a bit If I could, to give it a bit more sporty "look". But the E41's look 'faster" than E360 anyway  Check the pictures.... The blue XX has custom mounts ! http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/4e548622/bc...hUSj2_AWy0eWVya http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/4e548622/bc...h0si2_AJ5ET1bOF http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/4e548622/bc...hUSj2_AE59adjUS You may want to buy two of these from GIVI. They are the hardware kits for the Wingrack, the latch, posts and rubber bumpers. You'll need two kits. Part# E115-F1 $8.10 each.... Cheers,
  6. part # 31600-MY7-305 This is the original part for the '97/'98 ! It was actually replaced by 31600-My7-600 which on Ron Ayers web site is $141 !!! When you look at the '99/'00 , that part is $96.20. The improved - better cooling RR from '01-'03 is $85.96 !!!! I don't know who you talked to but he was wrong. The '99-'03 RR has a different plug !!! So you'd have to rewire it . Cheers,
  7. I don't think that's right. When you look here http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/frames.cfm?c...ogfile=200_0351 , you'll see there are three different RR's between the years of XX alone. The '99/'00 and '01/'03 look like they have the same plug though... The 600 and 900 CBR's have all different plugs and RR's... The 954 and '01/'03 XX look similar, but have different part numbers... you may be able to retrofit them, same as the R1 RR. Needs some plug modification. Cheers,
  8. Damn... ! She didn't read that , did she ???!!! I'm sorry...
  9. OMG !!! Who should we call ???!!!! If this was a horse we'd call the Humane Society ! Who do we call about the mistreatment of the bike ?! :headscratch: The Smugler didn't crack, did it ? Good Corbin.... BTW, the girls never look like the ones from the callendar od the bilboards....
  10. '99 with 51K miles... What Joe said, but I only replaced the filter (to K&N) and plugs once (around 30K) , plus : a- CCT - twice under warranty (at 25K and again at ~40K....extended warranty  ) b- the FI brain and the wire harness, under warranty ( ) c- battery, at 43K ( not that it needed it. I was going to the NEXXT'03 and didn't want to be lught at, if... , but I didn't know Dave was going to be there. Apparently he trained for the Road Side Assistant position    ) d- few of those plastic push-in clips, holding various pices of the bodywork. I was told once they are intended to be used only once !? Oh yes,... I also HAD to change the COLOR.... Couldn't stand the sad, slow black one :fingerflip: , only available color (here in US !!!) back in '99...
  11. Sk8boardIL, not that your new avatar isn't cute (it is ! ), but would you mind to bring your old one back , please.... ? Cheers,
  12. LITTLE ???!!!  WHO ARE YOU CALLING "LITTLE" ? :devilfinger: Cheers,
  13. Micron USA is actually associated with this dealership http://www.dgy.com/ and if you ever come by, I'm sure one of us, Chicagoland members could take you there. This dealer unfortunatelly is known for being pretty steep pricewise, both with bikes and accessories.... Cheers,

    HID again

I pressed the serch button .... http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forum/viewtopic.p...5&highlight=hid also here http://www.autolamps-online.com/gasdischarge/index.htm Cheers,
  15. There you go... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=35594 I went through the same ordeal.......... In Europe, the right swich housing has an additional lights switch "off-parking-driving". Maybe you could get a used one from there.... I went to a marine store and bought some waterproof switches there. I think I just saw some waterproof rocker switches on this forum, but can't remember where. Sorry... I found the "switch" web site  that I didn't remember earlier !!! http://www.2wheelinnovations.com/switches.htm Go nuts  Cheers,
  16. On all models or just the VFR800 ???!!! :???:
  17. Were you talking about this one Jerry ? That is the R1 tailsection on the bike.... I saw the YZF1000 with the 916 tail on it and the pipes under it..... Another one is the BMW R1100S and these people may have what you'd need: www.texasfairing.com They have pipes thet look bit like the F4 MV Augusta..... Cheers,
  18. The '93 CBR1000F was like that. You could remove the tank without a spill.... Now the XX is a different story (FI model at least) And I learned the hard way  ..... Cheers,
  19. There are some sound files here (Joe's bike is there too ! ) http://www.superblackbird.co.uk/downloads.htm There was a file where someone shows a difference between 1 and 2 pipes. Can't find it now...... The single pipe was more screeming, lass deep, as I remember. Cheers,
  20. I don't know about back pressures and stuff, but as far as I know the dent in the tank is not a result of the guy slaming at it with his balls... He probably did, but the dent comes from the frame flex. The tank being attached up front and in the back, absorbs the energy... Cheers,
  21. So if we don't want to be called "grup stupid", we should join you and buy wheels that one may not want or need nor like ?! Whaaa, I'll think about that :headscratch: :loony: I don't know about others, but when I bought the XX, riding it 175 MPH on custom wheels didn't even cross my mind. Seems it's important to you and that's okay. You asked a question and that's what others do, but for some reason it came out like you are saying "Hey Stupid, get these wheels, see. With these wheels you'll win all drag races, see. C'mon Stupid how can you not want these ?! Everyone who rides the XX shoud buy these, see...." Maybe you should trade the XX for the ZX12 or Busa, to get the extra few seconds.... I'm sure it would be easy. Dealers are dealing them without the grup buys .... And you wouldn't need the custom wheels  BTW you wouldn't happen to be the US importer for these wheels, would you ?! Same to you buddy, same to you......
  22. They are pretty, but I'd like to see them black. However, unless my rims get damaged, I'm not buying different ones.... You probably should direct this question to guys who customise their 'Birds... There should be "have no opinion " and "hookers" options aswell  Cheers,
  23. You can do the job yourself, without damaging anything  Unless the bearings on the XX are different than the CBR1000 !? I replaced them and don't remember to have much problem, but I had tomek help me  . You put new bearings into a freezer and they go in much smoother  Cheers,
