I believe that Honda put a dampner in the transmition to stop the gears from spinning when in neutral. This reduces the amount of jumping you get when you first put your bike into gear. I just let out the clutch enough to spin the gears and pop it into gear.
Polish is for removing light scratches and oxidation. It acts as a light surface cleaner. Wax is for putting a protective covering over your finish.
I like Meguires brand. I use thier spray polish followed by thier carnuba wax. I touch up the finish with Quick wax.
I happen to live near Discount Motorcycle Tire Co. so I bought and installed them there. Pilot Roads, mounted and ballanced for about $260 including tax. I took the tires off myself and brought them in.
The tranny gears are still spinning as you shift into gear. I believe that later year Blackbirds had some kind of dampner added to slow the free spinning gears down a little. Try using a synthetic oil, it makes everything smoother.
I have an extra stock can I plan to experiment with this winter. The link above shows the internal details. I was thinking of doing the long-drill-to-the-first-baffle-plate thing for starters.
The Sport Touring newsgroup seems to like it for their bikes (synthetic type). I could only find the dino version so I'm using Castrol Syntec. The engine feels smoother then when using synthetic blends or dino. Just over 10k miles.
