  1. Well, I was once told it was the PC-II, but their web site now suggests it's a PC-IIIusb... Linky ==> CBR1100XX Power Commander #102-411 It depends on when you got the PC. My '99 has a PCII, but the PCIII has become the offering in the last few months (since June or so?).
  2. I only have the right side switch and my taillight and front running lights stay on when the switch is off.
  3. Mine's routed such that the plug lays just above the grab handle in the cowl. Easy access through the cowl openning and out of the way when not in use.
  4. What he said. And FWIW - Page 3-20 of shop manual: "Turn the igniton switch OFF, place the motorcycle on its side stand and shift the transmission into neutral." It does make a difference. There will be more slack in the chain on the center stand.
  5. Going with an R1 regulator will drop charging voltage from around 14.7v to about 13.9v (according to my experience) which should help battery life as well. I went with the R1 when mine failed. No problems and easy install. Got mine for less than $50 from University Motors (see Vendor Section). Might want to check the following for installation: Important/Useful Threads
  6. Thanks for the tip. The item is still up on ebay. Just ordered one.
  7. You won't hurt it without the PC. I got rid of the flat spots in the power curve with the PC and a map another member had for the same setup but, general concensus seems to be you will be fine without it. Now if you have the money to have a custom map built for your bike you might see a better response.
  8. Here is the one I have. I like the fact6 that it is "plug and play" (don't have to splice into any wires). Ahlman Speedo Healer
  9. So, if I understand how the speedohealer works, if I've changed gearing and set the speedohealer to make the speedo acurate, the ODO will be off by approx. 4%. The gearing change will not have any effect because the speedohealere will change the number of pulses seen by both the speedo and ODO to the same as Rich experienced, Right? :icon_think:
  10. What do you mean "with helibars that's gone"? I've been using a Canyon Dancer with my helibars with no problem. Did have to work a little to get over the bar ends but it can be done.
  11. Can you accomplish the same thing with the PCII ignition map?
  12. I have the LED version. It's about the same brightness as stock when viewed from the side but, much brighter from directly behind. The appearance is different in that, on the CA version, there are 2 disctinct circular spots (from behind) rather than the whole housing being illuminated.
  13. Johns Bike Bits -aka John01XX on the board. JohnsBikeBits
  14. Geez, I was all over that website. I didn't see model that model # sproket listed. Try here to start: AFAM Sprockets
  15. FWIW - Here's the link to the diagram: Electrex Troubleshooting Diagram
  16. Check out the link in Dale's post. All the info is there. Linky
  17. Thanks for the info...I think I'll get it. Where are you getting it, and is that the model number for motorcycle brake bleeding? I couln't find that model number on the MityVac site and the brake bleeding stuff they had loooke like automotive --- too big. FWIW - I picked up the only one offered at my local PepBoys (obviously not MC specific) and it works great on the Bird.
  18. Here's a good run down on troubleshooting: Stator Problem I had to use the Electrex troubleshooting chart mentioned in the "TESTING" portion to find the problem with my R/R. THe diagnostic procedure in the shop manual didn't reveal it. FWIW - My output with the new R1 R/R has been about the same as yours. I usually run 12.9-13 at idle - never goes above 13.9. The old Honda R/R went to 14.7 or higher.
  19. If the serial to usb cablles don't work, serial cable you need is a simple monitor extension cable that you can get from any computer store.
  20. :icon_think: you mean use something to suck it out of the top? is that really necessary? No, but it makes the job go alot faster
  21. I've got the euro switch as well but, my running lights are on when the switch is in the off position. What did you reroute to get the total stealth mode? I definitely wnat to go this way.
  22. Same way I did it on my 99 and I agree, they aren't going anywhere.
  23. Might want to try this one. They stock an item specifically for the XX and should be plug and play. Variable rate flasher
