  1. For a lite scratch polishing compound. For a deep one fill it with touch ip paint, build it up just a bit higher then the rest. Let it dry and then sand with wet sand paper and lots of water. Once the touchup paint is the same level as the rest, polish it out. I use Maguires scratch remover to polish.
  2. Your HP is low, should be in the mid 130's stock.
  3. I'm not sure if anyone makes a full system with dual exhaust anymore. I went with scorpion slip on's because I wanted to stay with dual pipes. My bike dynoed at 136 stock, and 146 with the slip on's and a custom map.
  4. If it is powered down you'll get no signals to fire your injectors. You could test it ral quick to verify, but I'm 99% sure it won't run.
  5. I'm using power commander version 3.1.3. It saves the files as a .DJM. It can import .map files, but can't export it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
  6. Here is my custom map for a 99 with scorpian slip on and a K&N filter. Scorpian_K_N.zip
  7. Here are my dyno results. 99 with scopian slip-ons, PCIII, and K&N air filter. I've only ridden it breifly, but it feels real smooth. So smooth it felt like it has less power, until the front end started to come up in third. It never power wheelied in second before.
  8. As soon as I get the map I'll post it. I'll include the dyno chart with my bike stock, and the runs with the slip ons and custom map.
  9. I'm dropping my bird off today for to get a custom map. I should have a map for a 99 with Scorpian slip ons by the end of the week.
  10. Just slip them on. They sound great, not too loud, but you can hear them. I have an issue with the center stand bumper. The center stand doesn't even come close to hittimg the bumper, it hits the pipe instead. I pulled the center stand off to to avoid this. Let me know if you have the same problem.
  11. Get it as smooth as possible, prime, wetsand, then paint. The smallest scratch, or flaw will show through the paint. Get it perfect before you paint or you'll regret it. As long as you paint in a clean area with no dust in the air you shouldn't need to sand between coats.

    Idle

All 99's so far. Has anyone tried starter valve sychronization. It's the only thing I can find in the service manual for a rough idle.

    Idle

I have a 1999 XX with 6500 miles. I've only had it for 4 months. It seems to have a rough idle. When cold it fires, and will run real rough for a few seconds before clearing up, or stall. After a few seconds will idle upto 2000 rpms, then slow back down to a normal idle when warmed up. Even when warmed up the idle is a bit rough. I run the idle at about 1200 RPM's just to smooth it out a bit. The bike runs great otherwise, and has plenty of power and normal MPG's. I changed the plugs and airfilter, as well as added injector cleaner to a tank of gas. Is this normal for an XX to idle rough, and stall once or twice when started cold. I expected a fuel injected bike to be smooth?
