  1. I ordered them 3 weeks and 15 pounds ago. Ractec is still showing a .983 spring for street use. Do they figure them on the hard side? I want this bike set up for touring. Thats is when I ride the most agresive. Around town and two up I'm a lot calmer. I tour light though and I keep it in soft bags on the back. I not sure that would make a differance but for heavy braking. I'm sure members of this board are more in touch with the xx then racetec so I not against returning them. I do know the .89 stockers are to light.
  2. I am installing new Race Tec 1.0 spring. I am 180 with a pair of socks on. Does anyone have a sugestion on spacer length. If I did not have to do this 8 times it would be the cats tail.
  3. When is the m-3 do for release(I think that is what it is called). I have not seen it show up yet. Have not seen a millage for the powers posted.
  4. Ok, I have tried to stay out of this thead but don't they normally use 80/90 in transmisions? What is all this lighter oil. I use 10/40 myself, but that is inspite of the gears not because of it.
  5. I have springs and oil in the mail. I am hoping to have it together for next weekend. I have never touch forks. Always got a dealer to do it. Time to get over the fear. Anyone got a link on a how to. Also on the air gap, it seams to me that if I use the same amount that comes out the air gap will stay stock. Is this true or do I need to buy a the tool to measure it with?
  6. Thank you. I see it now you point it out.
  7. Sorry guys, I've got the blinkers off and I don't see what is holding the extender on. It seams to me that there is a retaining washer molded into the bolt and that I need to double nut the bolt and remove. Don't want to break it and that does not match what I read apove.
  8. The worst part is going into the store. ](*,) ](*,)
  9. Get a canyon dancer, about $25 or so You can get this at most motorcycle shops. Just call and go pick it up. It will make sence when you see it.
  10. I am would like to know myself. I thought that I read that it was a non-US problem, but I could be wrong.
  11. Hey, this sounds like a stupid question to me but here we go. I can not find anything in the mannel that says anything about it. Surely, they need to be sync. What am I missing?
  12. around here the blue angles are scary people. when they go on a group ride life flight should just follow because they end up doing it anyways. If you're a cop "BLUE ANGLES ROCK!"
  13. sounds like wishfull thinking on too much water. Don't know how cold it has been, but I would start looking now to see were it came from. Check the package to see what the freezing temp is on 50/50.
  14. That will work, just remember don't try first gear.
  15. In the 40's! Man up. I would love to see 30.
  16. Hey any one do a tec. page on the install?
  17. Thanks, I was hoping that would work. When I moved my plate, I moved everything up. I had just enought wire to pull it off with out a re-routine of the wire. The plate hides everything.
  18. Redbird, I thank you for some opposing info. I know very little about suspension, but intend to learn it if it kills me. I know there is not a one fix for every rider, but I would love to hear were you have you suspension and your weight. I have all most no miles on this bike. As soon as I bought the bike about 3 weeks ago, winter hit as as I brought it home. I did notice the harsh damping. I apologize because I haven't even check sag yet (I have a friend coming over this weekend to run a tape), but I what to get a start on this over the winter. I know it's going to need more work when I find a road warm enough to lay it over in. Thank all of you for your knowledge.
  19. I've read a lot of you have lowered the front. My guess is that the main reason was comfort, but when I look at it there is only about 5.25" of fork tubes inbetween the fork seals and the lower tripple tree. My question, How can you lower this 1 to 1 and half inches like I'm reading and not smack the fork seals into T.T. and loose travel at the same time? What I'm I missing?
  20. They also include 2 (why?) 6mm spacers for the shock which I don't think I'll use due to all the chain adjustment problems. (dragging on centerstand, not knowing the correct chain sag, etc.) I like how it handles just fine the way it is. Why would it affect the chain? The way I've read it you are lifting on top of the shock mount. I need to go look at what you saying when it warms up, but I haven't invisioned it beening a problem.
  21. Add me to the confused list. If it is about it being low how come no one is talking up about draging parts on the several suspension treads that have been passing the last month? Weight doesn't make any sence because W.C. posted he put them on his FJR which is 150 pounds more than the XX. This is on my winter list so I will be watching close.
  22. I went out to put plates on the new bird and I counln't do it. I pulled the 3 reflectors and moved the plate mount/light housing up to the brake light. Now I can't stop looking at those blinkers sticking out into space. I Know you can get new undertails that cure it, but I don't have the money these year. Has anyone found a simple way to bring them closer to the fender?
  23. Cant make up my mind on respring the rear because I don't know how long the stockers last. She only has 900 miles on it. Should I save up for a new shock or replace the spring? Is the stocker rebuildable?
  24. I know a lot of you have changed over as I am thinking about it. Any input would be great. Venders, Low or Low and High conversions. I am already decided on a low Temp. somewere around 4300K. I don't have any other lighting on the bike and with this upgrade I'm thinking none will be needed.
