  1. When you lower the bike, it makes the bike want to spin more. I only had trouble when it cooled off late in the night (50's F) and dew everywhere. It's not a lot of fun with the rear end fishtailing across the track.
  2. When it cools off at the track, second gear will light up on me. It seems strange at first, you shift to second and it red lines!!! Nothing you can do but go for third.
  3. Thanks for the information.
  4. When I got my 97, I put in a K&N, no stumble. Then slip-ons, no stumble. Then a jet kit, it did run better and removed the flat spot but .......
  5. Make sure the battery is good and charged. Bikes seem like they need to spin faster than cars.
  6. The adjustable one that Demon has looks stronger than the ones that was out before.
  7. I have had one on mine for a couple of years. It does run over the junction box on the right side (above fender, line going to the left side). Up top, to the right and left of the triple, I can not get the strap under the lines without bending them up, so it goes over them. Must not hurt anything as I said, it has been two years.
  8. To drill throught the stockers, use two extensions together that you would use on a wood spade (the bits you use when wiring a house). I did it and then got the Yosh spin-on's.
  9. Nik, if you do this, remember, you have to tighten the bolts really-really tight.
  10. I have found that when I tighten the nut, it changes the setting some. So you have to allow alittle one way or the other.
  11. I don't have the answer to your question but you got to love a post that starts out that way.
  12. I just rode my bike today for the first time with the 4 degree advancer. I also added a tooth to the rear so I am not sure which made the difference. Where I could seem to tell the difference was in high gear pulling up a long hill, it really pulled hard. The speedo was at 160 and it was still coming on strong. I heard no pinging but I run 93 gas anyway (no comments please ).
  13. I put my first new one in Saturday. Scraping the old gasket off was the hardest part and it wasn't hard.
  14. I just replaced my factory battery in my 97 last year. It wasn't dead but I think Carlos said that it was hard on the R/R when the battery is getting old and needs alot more charging than a newer one.
  15. Turn the kill switch to ON.
  16. Yea, look around at schnitz and check out the ones with the shift minder. That's what I got. Just set the switches where you want the light to come on with no pills.
  17. I guess I will find out too because two of them are going on my bike tonight. I don't do high miles though.
  18. So will a worn out tire, it is lighter.
  19. A good while ago, this was argued to death on here. I think it started when someone wanted to start a group buy or something. If you want the most bang for the buck, it is hard to beat NOS. IMHO.
  20. Where do you take it to have the accuracy checked?
  21. I don't know about Virginia, but in Pa, motorcycles and diesels are exempted from the testing.
  22. Dude, you are in so much trouble now. You my's well junk it or sell it quick. Hurry. I'll give you a $100 for it. It will be fine.
