  1. I still have a brand new Naarden speedlink in the original packaging and a Red lowering strap laying around in my garage. I no longer have a CBR so I dont need these anymore. The Red lowering strap is used and dirty but nothing physicaly wrong with it. Im located in Port Richey, FL. How does 50 bucks plus shipping sound for both? 727-389-1468 Dave
  2. I have attached the photos. I sent Steve and E-Mail as when I took down the plastic lower it wasnt as I remembered it. I sent him this E-Mail describing it. He still has first dibs, I just want to get the correct condition out there. I also didnt get a chance to take a picture of the strap as hell its free if you buy the link and its buried in the garage lol. I pulled the left lower off the shelf and wiped off the cob webs and looked it over. As in the add the back black heat shield was removed to put onto my bike, I also forgot but I had removed the little metal tabs on the top that connect the lower fairing to the upper and the welnut that the front V shape center piece is screwed into. The foam is good and was never cut for frame sliders. However I also went over the finish and it was not how I remembered it. Its been 2 years since I put it away. There was a considerable amount of tiny rock chips on the front area and the lower area(not deep just chips), there is also a scrap on the very bottom where the two lower are connected together, and a 1 inch minor scuff midway up the fairing. I took pictures, the tiny rock chips are really hard to get to show up, the scrap showed up well and you can also see that all tabs are perfect and this side was never dropped. I like to go into as much detail as possible so there are no surprises when you get your part! Dave
  3. PM got and replied, Im going out to take pictures right now of all the parts!
  4. I have a left side 2000 Titanium lower, only had about 4k miles on the bike when I removed it as I wrecked on the other side. Small minor rock chips that would be normal but otherwise good condition. The foam is still there but the black heat shield on the back was removed for my replacement plastics I had bought for the bike. I can get pics tomorrow once its light out. 100 obo plus shipping Also found a brand new still in packaging speed link for the rear end for drag racing, adjust from stock high to slammed in minutes. 100 obo plus shipping And last a Snitz Racing Front strap in red, dirty but very usable. Ill throw it in with the rear link. I dont have my blackbird anymore so these have no use to me. Im located in Port Richey FL.
  5. I received this today via e-mail 19 days after I shipped them mine: We emphasis with the problems you have encountered with the Speedlink -lowering links. Since we took over the product line we have not had any similiar complaints from purchasers of the product. Upon examination, we did find that the bearings were frozen, not allowing any of the rotational movement of this part of the suspension. The cause for this is difficult to determine but can be any of the following: (1) Improper installation of grease seals (2) Defective bearing (3) Bearing worn out from use (4) Inadequate routine maintenance We do value the relationship we have with the motorcycling public and recognize each as a person, deserving of an occasional break from complications such as this. So, although the purchase was thru Dave Shcnitz via the earlier manufaturer, we are providing a replacement at our cost in the hopes that will somewhat alleviate the problems you encounterd. We appreciate your understanding and fully expect if your are vigilante in addressing the potential casues for failure listed above, you will not encounter this issue again. Thans you Naarden, Inc The address it will be sent to is : I will admit I never installed the seals for the bearings into the link. However the bearings where anything but seized and moved freely. Either way I will have a replacement shortly on my door step. I wont be using.
  6. Both ends rotated on the bearings properly. If your asking about the threaded rod moving around inside of the aluminum ears, the one end is screwed into it and has two set screws placed in it, the other end has the two nuts compressing the back aluminum ear. It was tight enough I was unable to rotate the 15/16 nuts by hand or wiggle the remainder of the threaded rod at all.
  7. That just sounds scary to me. For a part that supports your whole rear suspension Id hope it would last longer then a year or two. If this was produced by toyota, honda, or yamaha and they were breaking links people woudl be livited, even if 10 years down the road.
  8. I just got off the phone with naarden speedlink. They said they have never heard of this failure before and there products are on very high hp drag bikes. He asked if I had over tightened it or under tightened it as both can be bad for the link as under means its floping around and over means that it can stretch and weaken the threded rod. They are also indepently tested in Navada to meet and exceed there specifications. He was more then willing to take the link back and replace it, however the damage done they kinda didnt have interest in. I asked about my undertail atleast and he said to take pictures and email them and he would see what he could do about that. Not sure what exactly that entitled. I think Im kinda screwed on the damaged parts.
  9. Thanks guys for the heads up. So far I havent heard squat from the manufacture. They are over in Daytona Beach FL, and I am in Port Richey. I will be calling them at lunch time, and I may pay a visit if need be. Honestly I dont think I will put another one on. I have gotton a few offers from great board members to get a stock one back on my bike as I gave it away to another board member a while back. I will keep you guys informed.
  10. Just got this back. I will be shipping the link tomorrow. April 26, 2005 was the purchase date we do not sell them anymore, but the owner sold the company to another person in Florida. If you would, send the broken pcs to Naarden Speedlinks 950 C Teresa Street Daytona Beach , FL 32117 386-257-2466 Tell them that Schnitz Racing wanted you to see them, to see if they were still made the same way. we will pay for replacements if they still make them, just tell Naarden to call my cell phone at 260-xxx-xxxx, I know them Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave" <xxxxxxxx@earthlink.net> To: <dave@schnitzracing.com> Sent: Friday, December 29, 2006 12:52 AM Subject: Speed Link for CBR1100XX Broken > Hello, > > I have a speed link I purchased a while back from you for my CBR1100XX. > Just today while going over a hump in the road it snapped in two. 11. I just checked and both ends move freely no problem. It was probably about a year and a half old. I sent the owner of Snitz racing a e-mail with pictures attached. I will be calling tomorrow. I sure hope they do something about this and just say it was for off road use only or something like that. Also very glad it wasnt at higher speed, or with a passanger. Scary. So does anyone have a stock link laying around?
  12. I'm on my way home from work and while riding home I usualy go by my budys house since its on the way. There is a slight hump in the road. After going over the hump this is what happened. That was a Snitz Racing Speed Link... Hopefully they take care of this as I beleive they are a good reputable company...
  13. Where did those wings come from, I will be painting my bike black and would like titanium or grey wings similar to the 954 and the 05 and 06 rc51... I like things that match what can i say.
