http://www.swmototires.com is another good source for cheap tire prices with quick delivery. I seem to remember either cheap or free shipping when I bought my Avon 45/46's.
I have an 1100# spring on my 8981 and it works great. I set the sag at about 30mm. I also increased the overall shock length about 1/4" with the ride height adjustment.
I vary the compression damping with the load and riding style of the day. I set it soft for highway use and stiffen it for twisty roads or for use with a passenger. I think I have the rebound set at 15 clicks down from full damping.
I'm sure I'm not the fastest rider in the group, but the only thing I can scrape in the corners is the side of my boot since I changed the ride height.
I like my VFR bars and have even raised them up on the fork legs. I'm tall and I find them more comfortable than the stockers.
Plus they look like OEM (because they are  ) and are cheaper than Heli's. I bought mine from Ron Ayers.
I bought the +2 lines to go with my raised VFR bars. I probably could have gotten by with the standard length, but the extra 2" doesn't hurt anything.
I think I learned about CycleBrakes.com from Carlos. Thanks for the leg work Swampy.
I suggest you go to CycleBrake's web site and got their phone number. Talk to Melissa and tell her you are a member of this board for a 10% discount. CycleBrakes knows how to build lines for the 'Bird.
I can't find the pan bolt torque value in my manual either. Are the bolts the same diameter as the oil return pipe bolt? If so, I'd torque them to the same value (9ft-lbs).
Whoops!! You're right. Air is about 79% Nitrogen. Typo on my part. There IS a small amount of water in typical bottled nitrogen from your local welding supply house however.
Also, nitrogen would expand less than air only if there was a significant amount of water, oil or other contaminates in the air.
The nitrogen will expand with heat at almost the same rate as air. After all, air is mostly nitrogen (76%). Both nitrogen and air behave as "ideal gasses" for all practical purposes and expand/contract in direct proportion to temperature.
I think Molson309 has the most practical reason to use nitrogen in tires, but a lot of the bottled nitrogen is not dry and still carries some water vapor.
I just finished reading a review on the ME-Z6's in the new Motorcycle Consumer News. They seemed to like them on an Aprilla Mille. MCN reports the "constant radius" of the Z6's slowed the handling down on the Mille, but they thought they were more stable than the OEM Michelins.
I like my Avon 45/46's. As noted above, they handle great, the grip is good and they look like they will last longer than the Dunlop 207's they replaced.
Yeah, I did. That's what I meant when I said
 If you did get a warped hugger, you might try heating it in an oven for a while and tweaking it a bit. If you can't return it, you might as well try to fix it.
Let us know what happens.
I can't see your pics, but I can tell you mine fit well. I think I had to file one of the mounting holes a bit, but other than that, no problems. Maybe you got a bad one.
I don't know if it is even an option, but the engine from Brett's totalled bike might work for you. I know it had a little damage, but I can't remember much other than the oil pan. You might PM Richard Cranium and "explore the possibilities".
For God's sake. Can't we discuss something better than these stupid wheels and the asshole who wants a discount in the Garage. This arrogrant prick has received much more attention than he deserves.
