  1. What...is the board moving too slow??? We need to dig up old threads now....sheesh
  2. Dunno if this helps, but be sure to wipe off all excess lube when finished. After spraying the whole chain, I run the bike briefly on the center stand to work the lube through. Then kill motor (dont want to lose a finger) and rub off excess with a folded paper towel. This works great for me, and I have very little fling off afterwards. After my PJ1 ran out, I have been using some el cheapo "Gunk chain lube"
  3. I would paint it a dark blue to contrast that gold. That would look super cool. Or I still love the sound of a dark black cherry on a pearl base. Both those colors would augment your gold quite nicely.
  4. I was going to do black cherry until I wussed out and did black with the silver flames. Black cherry looks cool if done right.
  5. Avon Av45/46's here. I have had them for 2000miles, and love them. I have gotten rid of all the chicken strips after growing a set of balls. Those tires will out handle me anyday! I will be buying more.
  6. He's right! All you others lurkers out there get posting so you don't crash!

    Brakes

Correct me if I am wrong, but doing a burnout will not actuate the rear brake at all unless you are pushing down hard on the front end of the bike. Isn't the rear brake actuated by the left front caliper moving up slightly against the master cyl there on the left fork? Put the bike on the center stand, spin the rear tire then pull the front brake will it stop it? Nope.
  8. Where are the air screws set?
  9. You FI guys crack me up!!! All this talk about "lights", "codes", and "sensors". Sounds all techno-gizmo!! ...er...um...sorry to hear of your troubles...good luck... ...excuse me I have to go tear my entire bike apart to change my needle position...
  10. Uh...I am not sure why one would want to remove the baffle??? I have Carbon slip on Scorps, and you can clearly see right down the middle. I was surprised they weren't louder than they are.
  11. Heh..The ol Cr250 wasn't making enough horsepower. Plus I was inspired by Mission Impossible 2. One minute they are doing high speed asphalt stunts, the next they are jumpin those Triples on the beach. I was confused.
  12. Always had good luck with Mobil, but now I use Amsoil. I switched because I started using it off road, it is good stuff. I agree with the bike running cooler on Amsoil.
  13. Well, I thought I would report some interesting findings. This spring I added Scorpion CF slip ons, and a K&N jet kit. Bike sounded great, and seemed to make a ton more power, esp midrange. I noticed the tips were getting sooty (rich) so I added a K&N filter. Now it makes more power (seat of the pants) and seem to run cleaner. My mileage has gone from 30 to 40 mpg with jsut the filter install. My jetting settings were as recommended by Dynojet. 140 mains, needle in 3rd clip pos, but instead of using their suggestion of 2 turns out on air screw, I left it at 2.5 turns as stock. Should I go leaner on air screw or needles? This is on a 98, whatever elevation Michigan is. Thanks Robb
  14. Check www.bikez.com as they might know. I looked, but could not find a 86 ZX6 Ninja.
  15. My bro has then in his Zook RF900. They work great, and are lasting great so far. We just got done installing his NOS system too. That was cool.
  16. When you guys are ready to dispose of your old tires, do this to em!! http://home.comcast.net/~rizobb/MOV01116.MPG MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Sorry about posting this more than once...
  17. Yeah...Do this, it's fun!!!
  18. Heh...Years ago my brother worked at a Valvoline oil change place. (his first job). We would drive our cars in, they would drain them, fill em with new oil, drain them, fill them back up. It was amazing how much more dirty crap came back out when you flushed them.
  19. Sounds great! Glad you're satisfied. Anyone else have the same experience with Avon's? I am getting my new set mounted tomorrow, AV45/46's. Hope mine go well...
  20. I think that one you speak of is in Canada, eh? I saw it and thought it was a great deal.
  21. Here are my Scorpion CF slip ons. I agree with o-rich. I like them a lot.
  22. Not really tweaking, but I did a K&N (Dynojet) kit on my bike, and now it has a MONSTER midrange. You know that power that comes on at 6-7K rpm? Now it hits more at 4-5K, with no flat spot. This is how they should have come from the factory!
  23. I would hold out for scorpions if I were you. So far they are my favorite sounding exhaust for the XX. (Ok I am biased, cause I own em) Micron is a close second. If you want a really deep, powerful sound, choose Scorpion or Micron. I am working on posting a sound file of the scorpions, soon. Robb
