  1. Originally the garage was on a GFI-protected circuit that was shared between both baths, the rear patio, front patio, and garage. The rear patio has the beer fridge. So I'd put the compressor on in the garage, which is a power hog, not a little one, the fridge would kick in, add in a work light... You can see where this is going. Here's an electrician question... Is it safe to use a dual circuit breaker to power two 110 circuits, or should I get two seperate single breakers? IE, I used an existing 220 breaker that's no longer needed, and wired the outlets so some are on one phase and some are on the other.
  2. On a different subject... 42psi is very high for sport riding, and will also make the bike ride harshly. You might get slightly higher tire life at this pressure, at the loss of traction and comfort. Most tires work best at 36-40 psi on this bike, with only the Avons working well at 40.
  3. I put a rear sprocket with 21k on it against a brand new one and could not see any difference at all. Going to try it again at the next chain and see how it looks.
  4. OEM chain is a DID 530ZVM. The OEM rear is the best. Very solid. You can easily go two chains per rear sprocket. The front depends on whether you want to change to a 16 tooth. I use the AFAM 16t and while it wears slightly faster then OEM, not by a lot. You must change the front with every chain, or more often if it wears faster than the chain.
  5. If you go look in the mods section of the main site, you'll see a couple of options.
  6. No problem, I'll put them on the server if you zip them up and e-mail them.
  7. If you need any help with scanning, compiling tables of parts, or whatever, I'll be happy to.
  8. Nice work! You gonna post the plans and list?
  9. They lie. PIAA bulbs are the worst on the market. They use a trick to make the light seem brighter, but it is not. See the link to an impartial test in the FAQ section of the site. They wind the filament on a larger spool, which makes the light beam narrower and more focused. This makes the hot spot much brighter, but the sides much darker. Just what you don't want when going around corners.
  10. They are not Xenon. They are not HID. The fact that there is blue tint on them means you're losing light output.
  11. HRCA membership card. Anything else is overkill. Let me know when you'll be in the Phoenix area. Oh, and you do know it will be fucking cold/snowing in the canyon area for a few months yet, right?
  12. You have a spyware problem! We have no popups at all fed from this forum, no advertising links, nothing. I'd recommend downloading and running Spybot Search & Destroy.
  13. I was going to post something like this myself. Some potatoes with dinner and some fudge afterward left me all screwed up the next day. Slept until 10:30 and still felt like ass.
  14. I already have a similar nailer, up to 1 5/8". I can't imagine what I'd need the larger size for, since it seems a 2" nail would be the wrong size for most things. So... But speaking of cabinet making, if you know the right ways to use a nailer in finish work, how about starting a new thread on it? I could use some tips. So far I've only used mine for rough work, which is good, since I occasionally get a deviating nail out the side of the piece, and I'm not sure how to fill/finish over the nail holes.
  15. Was a for sale ad, but it is sold. Left the thread here since it has good info.
  16. In one case the guy was running on a TL at about 120. We did that for about 10 minutes. But I've run at 180 for 10 minutes followed by 145 for another 15 without blowing up a tire... Another guy was on the track, and the third was just riding down the road as a bubble formed on the side of the tire. Then there are all the well-publicized Dunlop failures the racers have had.
  17. Wow, excellent explanation. There's one more evil thing to add though (AOL goes above and beyond to be evil). AOL's browser is proxied, not a real IP connection, so they don't even have to give you that IP temporarily. This proxy can't maintain user sessions properly, though I don't know the intricate details on why exactly.
  18. I run the board on a program called phpBB. The makers of that software are security-conscious, and implemented some great security measures. Unfortunately, AOL does some non-standard things that make you look just like one of the intrusion methods used for hacking. So it breaks the session. They were planning on releasing a less-secure version, which I could load and eliminate this. I just haven't thought about it again and haven't looked to see if it is available.
  19. It rides fine, but short-lived and no better than longer lasting tires. I've also personally seen three of them bubble/explode on the road right in front of me.
  20. Did you check your tire pressure? If the bike's been sitting, it might be low, which would make the front end feel heavy.
  21. Just a note on the battery... It won't do any good to take it out. Just put a charger on it still in the bike. If you take it out, it will still self-discharge and damage itself.
  22. Wow, that's cheap. I meant to post an update on this since I've put a lot of use on all the tools. The circular is just surprising. I really thought I'd never use it, but now I've retired my corded circular saw. Yesterday I was ripping full panels of 3/4" particle board and MDF and I was shocked at how well it did. It's really nice not to have the cord fucking you up on an 8' cut, and being so small and light has so many advantages. The drill has been abused the most, and it just works well. I've used it for everything from cable installs where I had to drill large holes to building computers with the clutch on the lightest setting. Works well, lasts a long time. The recip saw is powerful. Surprisingly so. I was going to eBay the laser level/studfinder, but ended up using it. A lot. It's much more useful than I ever expected. The only unfortunate part is that the kit doesn't include the case for it as it does when you buy it alone. It does have a box you can keep it in. I bought the intelligent 1-hour charger. If you buy this kit, plan on spending $27 to buy that, and do it immediately. The included charger in the kit is horrible. It is slow, and worst of all, has no intelligence to prevent overcharging. I guarantee this will ruin your batteries. I got it from http://www.nickandjack.com which has great prices and delivery was fast.
  23. Oval tabs?? Must be something hidden until you remove the spring? The dimension I need is the diameter of the spring perch at the bottom of the shock, which is kind of gold metallic colored. It comes off when the spring is removed. This part:
  24. Cool! What's the diameter of the other perch?
