sachimore Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 (edited) 2002 Bird, during idle it misses and you can smell raw fuel coming out of the muffler. Above 1,500 RPM it's fine. 67K. Always garaged. Vacuum lines tight Almost New plugs No FI light Never adjusted valves Any ideas welcome Thanks Sach Smyrna, TN Edited November 26, 2022 by sachimore Quote
rockmeupto125 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Disconnect the power commander if it has one. Replace the fuel pressure regulator. Quote
superhawk996 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Check for fuel in the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose. Quote
rockmeupto125 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Sach, because of the vagaries of autocorrect in our lives, I want to clarify. NEVER adjusted valves....or NEWER adjusted valves? Quote
sachimore Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 Never have had them adjusted. Had an older guy that was Honda trained and worked at a dealership 20 years. Then opened his own shop and he talked me out of checking the valves. Eventually he moved away. Quote
superhawk996 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 With 67k I'd suggest checking the valves. The Honda trained guy is an idiot. They might be fine, but if they go tight you'll be coming back to ask how much it costs to remove and repair the cylinder head. Quote

ironmike Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 As cited by rockmeupto125 and superhawk996, that FPR merits attention--don't overlook it. Quote
