BillP
Only selling because I am moving house, need to clean the stable. As you all know, one of Honda's best models, the Blackbird is a versatile sports tourer, the fastest production bike of its time, and a mile eater. This bike has a full service history, recently serviced with new tires. I ride it mostly with no bags, but have a full Givi rack with side and top boxes for separate negotiation. This bike comes as original black, but it also has a full extra body kit, all panels and tank - this is custom paint in dark camo. It takes about an hour to switch from original to custom. For history buffs the second set of panels/tank was done to commemorate the Supermarine Spitfire, the plane that dominated the skies over England in WW2. Left hand low speed low side means some scratching on l/h exhaust, and minor scratches on the custom panels - original bodywork is clean. I have loads more pics and video. 18K miles, $3,500 North Chicago area
blackhawkxx
I thought 1997 was the first year.
rockmeupto125
Production began in mid 1996, and as I recall, there a few of them made it to the states early enough that they were titled as 96's rather than 97's. A fellow local to me pre-ordered one as soon as he read the magazine tests, and it was titled as a '96. There seem to be quite a few more 1996's in Europe, and I believe the only year that the dark maroon color was available. Information attributed to Iain Baker of Honda Europe puts 1996 production at nearly 11,000 units. Iain is quite a fan of the XX, and I had the pleasure of conversation with him many years ago over a brilliant dinner someplace near Kestwick. blackhawkxx
So it is a rare classic like a 1964 & 1/2 Mustang.
Furbird
If you only knew how many idiots out there believe the 1965 was the first Mustang. Even alleged Mustang "purists" believe it.
superhawk996
Or the title may show year first sold as '96 and the seller took that to mean it's a '96 model. I see that all the time on ads.
