Ok !! where to start?

First I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the people out there in the Blackbird world that have encouraged me and have believed in what I try to do and have become good enough friends to tell me when what I am doing is"A" good, "B" could be better or "C" CRAP!!!! You know who you are and again I say thanks .

Funds are painfully tight so I have an agreement with the company I currently work for to use a corner of one of their workshops and work on my own stuff out of hours. I have registered the Domain names VelocityShack.com and VelocityShack.co.uk and will be putting up a website as soon as I can get my head around that kind of thing.

Note: I would just like to point out that the name†VelocityShack†is not affiliated , involved with , associated to or other way connected to any other company or body using the word Velocity in their name.

The plan so far as I have planned it, is this.

1. Get P12 sorted of next Saturday ( Drag racing) at http://www.dragndrift.co.uk/info.php

2. Get Blue T finished , tested and sold

3. Finish Project T, my own drag bike and get out on it next summer and prove to the world the bits I make work.

4. Work with a couple of other people on the forum to get produces out there, some of which are;

· Full Brembo brake kits

· Drag swing arms

· Turbo kits Fi and Carbie

· Chain and sprocket kits

· Brake and oil lines sets

A lot of this thread will be about the running and evolving of Project 1200 ,the finishing of Blue T and the building of Project T

To start things off here are some pics of how things stand day (12/11/2011)

So if people are interested let me know and I’ll keep you posted

Cheers

G

Best of luck! Looks like you have a good plan. By maintaining your employment, you don't have to gamble everything. When you see that it is self-sustainable, you can make the final leap of faith. I'll be excited to see your products!

I think you know, but in case you don't remember, I do want the exhaust bits for mine. Already have the turbo and motor parts on the bench. FPR and fuel parts also needed.

Just let me know when.

All my support, anytime.

Couple of pic's of the carbon dummy tank I made , this will sit over a half gallon alloy tank that will sit in front of the plenum.

P12's clutch is all done and back together, just got to put plactics back on tonight.

Looking at a rethink on Blue T's intercooler , at the moment air follow runs South to north straight up from the turbo , under the steeringhead and straight into the plenum. great for packageing, but I need to be clear in my mind that the air to air heat tranfer will be enough to get the charge temp down.

that looks to be a d207 rear tire..

Are you dragging with that?

Unfortunately it’s the only tyre I have with any tread on it. The whole plan for tomorrow is just to go out and have some fun , if I run 12's all-day and come home with the me and P12 in one piece that will be fine with me. I've not been down a strip on a bike in a long time and Saturday is all about shake down, for me as much for the bike. This is the last event of the year so if all goes well I will be looking to run a full season next year as well as getting along to some of the mile racing events. I'm very keen to join the "measured Mile 200mph club" before I get to old and don't have the ball to do it.

P12 is all loaded and ready to go again ............. I say again because I had her loaded once then had a call from a Mate saying he was in Hospital having just binned his CB1300 in a wet ditch. 2 hour laterly CB1300 safely in my workshop he's resting well at home battered but not broken.

Best 60' 2.156 , best ET 11.615 , best trap MPH 123.6 . Didn't loses a race all day . No grip off the line . Just spun in First and into second , track was very greasy , had rev limiter set to 10k and head wind all day. a bit of Operator error. P12 never missed a beat all day and there is much more there when I'm ready for it..............

Not to bad for a first shake down. Most fun I've had on my bike in ages.

Well now i'm going to have to save for a good tyre, get the bike lower , shed a load of weight off the bike, turn up the rev limiter and get my launch times down.

Wait a minute !!!!!!!!!!! I think I may just be hooked LOL

You can gain a full second by just getting a good rear tyre and alittle work on your launch.

I have run 10.6 on a stock Bird with exhaust and Power commander

I have seen 10.3's run on a stock Bird as well.

Problem is this track is not a full time strip and the surface is not good, as you can see for the you tube clip wheel spin off the line was a hugh problem.
