kjclark7
how bad is the fuel economy after doing this mod??? i guess i am at about 31-34 mpg right now running stock. i'm curious to what it would go down to. kevin
devilisht2003
not reallly noticable until you do lot of highway miles cause of the higher RPM
mrsquirrel
It is if you keep letting rip with the throttle though cause you know she is going to pick her front wheel up and make you hurtle forward at a ludicrous rate of knots. I am 3/4 through a tank with 112km on the clock.

mrsquirrel
This sport is about FUN! NOT FUEL ECONOMY If you want to be sensible, stay home and mow the lawn. Hmmm feeling a bit bitter today. Do you have anything worthwhile to add to this thread? No? Well we know what to say to that then don't we. devilisht2003
its an excel spreedsheet, just change sprocket size or tire size and it figures speed vs rpm
PlasticxxHead
I just did the 16t this weekend.. You have to be ready to feel the bike screaming under you.. The highway trip rides up at 5k+.. You definately feel the engine braking under cornering.. I rool around the city in 6th now, just because I can snap the throttle and she goes. without down shifting... I'll try it for a while.. The install in easy enough .. I can always throw my 17t back in for a distance run.. ps The bike DOES NOT become a pogo stick.. so don't let that rumor scare you.. You can easily bring the front wheel up but nothing to fear a backflip... Does this mod effect your Odometer?
JB4XX
Does this mod effect your Odometer? Without a speedohealer your speedometer will read high and your odometer will show miles you never rode.

I'd suggest an admin put that in the important/useful threads section. Beyond my powers as a mere moderator or I'd do it now.
Northman
Travis, start another thread with just that spreadsheet link on it, and I'll happily move it to Important/Useful Threads.
Obby
This sport is about FUN!NOT FUEL ECONOMY If you want to be sensible, stay home and mow the lawn. Funny, but not alltogether true. I use my bird primarily as a commuter now-a-days. It has been the best way to get in and out of work during commute hours (hella traffic here in SF). And bridges are free on bikes! The only down side is that I rarely want to ride on my weekends because I'm burt out from my commuting  .
