    SICK BIRD

Did you try bumping it or is that a bad idea?
  2. Good to know Are you off to Pataya Bike Weekend on the 18th?
  3. Thats what I wanted to hear. Gasohol is the Thai/brazilaian branding for E10 10%ethanol gas Do you know if it can be used in carbed bikes?
  4. Bloody Thailand has started to phase out 95 and are trying to make me put Gasohol into my bikes. What sort of damage is this likely to cause. Is it really going to be ok? Please help me. Is it time to sell my bike?
  5. They were cheap as shit. 1200B I checked them up on the internet and they have terrible reviews as well. although aparantly gold frans race pads are very good The ones I have just make you sweat even in low speed traffic. They are HH rated as well.
  6. i fitted the above pads a month ago. I thought to start with they needed bedding in and that was why they were not stopping me. After a month I am still having moment where I hold my breath when they haven't bitten. Off to the shops this weekend.
  7. Living in Thailand the laws are a little less strict here. Last cold season (relatively cold) I had to push my friend Boom about 40km on his steed up through some winding mountain roads and down some messed up hills because his throttle cable snapped. We have used a Blackbird and a ZX-9 to bump start the back up truck before as well - I know the back up truck should be there for us but when some bloody idiot leaves the stereo on all night it can cause problems in the morning.
  8. Just an update on the 16 tooth install. The bike gains appears to be out by 4 kms - 100km is only 96km which isnt to bad so going on that the last weekend I was away with the bike she drank a 23 litres of fuel over 250 kilometers. Not great. I am planning on sticking the 17 tooth back on for a month and making a decision after that as to which I want to keep. I still love the increase in acceleration my friends R1 got a bit of a fright when he realised that I was gaining on him more now. I don't like the fact that I am now sitting at 5000rpm when I am cruising around. However the control in traffic is a lot better as well. So back to 17 see what I think and make a final decision there.
  9. Oddly enough I saw a Blackbird in Black last week with a foreign rider in town.
  10. http://www.blackbirdspares.com/showbike/index.html Probably even more than 3k but you can dream
  11. http://www.magicalracing.co.jp/LineUp/97_0...r1000xx_en.html Make it into one of the magical racing street bikes -
  12. What was the name of the seller? HIDseller@hotmail.com Is it Greg or Andy?
  13. Keep us posted. I am got PayPal sorted but want to know what the backup service is like if they fail.
  14. One of those single seat cowels and a business card holder of massage/escort ladies for the area you are travelling to should solve your problem. You have a good excuse to leave her behind and have a laugh at the weekend. Saying that though i am sure her indoors would try and sit on the single seat cowel if she thought I was off on a road trip again.
  15. I have emailed him to see what he said. Done this more than once and not got a reply so maybe this time. Still 185 dollar to Thailand then or a bit more? I never could work out if it was going to cost 5 dollars more of it was included cause at one point it was more then he was giving next day international shipping included. Then the thread got to ten pages long and I got a bit confused.
  16. Numbers even Not sure will look
  17. Thanks Mis-information on my part then.
  18. IS this all finished now? I am still trying to work out how to buy one and get it shipped here without pay pal. Any ideas?
  19. Living in Thailand I have to buy my bikes second hand. Just the way things are out here. So I buy from the best bike importer in the country. You pay a little more but you have peace of mind with the company. My Bird is meant to be a Blue 99 FI. It has the analogue clocks but has the newer rear light fixture. Now registering bikes here is sometimes a bit of cash under the table affair and with this bike it probably was too but I won't really ever know. My chassis number on the steering column etched into frame has not been changed. The number on the metal chassis plate near the oil filler has been acided of and re stamped with the number on the frame. The reason I am curious is that my regulator is on the left hand side and was a big 2002 model or later one in the 2002 model and later place. ARe there any other clues I should look for to determine the year of the bike. Paint colour, ECU or something else. I know this sounds a bit dodgy but it is Thailand and it is not uncommon for numbers to be changed to compliment a log book that is already out here on the market. Saves time and money.
  20. Hmmm feeling a bit bitter today. Do you have anything worthwhile to add to this thread? No? Well we know what to say to that then don't we.
  21. It is if you keep letting rip with the throttle though cause you know she is going to pick her front wheel up and make you hurtle forward at a ludicrous rate of knots. I am 3/4 through a tank with 112km on the clock.
  22. One tooth down on the front sprocket. Front wheel up in the air Fuel Economy non existant. Acceleration up Feels like a new bike. 5000rpm in top and open her up and away she goes.
