  3. i just sold the bird this afternoon (with the corbin seat and backrest) so the only thing that is left is the tank bra and i am waiting for tall1 to get back to me. i really had mixed feelings seeing the bike leave but it is off to a good home.
  4. Is your price firm on the corbin and does that include shipping? I have one spotted but I'll take the best deal. Thanx. just for the seat or both the seat and backrest? i can do it for the price listed above (price is including shipping). let me know if your interested.

  7. here's the rest of the pictures because i am off to work soon. yes the mount stays on the bike and is black in color. most of the time, if not commuting to work, i did not have the top case on the bike. only when commuting or long road trips. the top case will fit a XL arai helmet along with a lot of other stuff. its very roomy. there are other mounting systems out there but i preferred this one because i did not use side bags. send me a pm when you are final on what you would like. i'm working tonight but will be able to check in from time to time.

  9. all finished and it turned out pretty good. chain is at the new chain mark on the adjustment so now i just have to go out and ride. thanks for the input guys.
  10. thanks for the info. as long as it will work and has the proper tensile strength and not under what its supposed to be. as far as the sprocket, i usually ride with ear plugs so i'll see if i can hear it or not. if i do, i guess i'll have them try again and order me a stock replacement with the rubber on it. i appreciate the info guys. had to get this done asap, i'm going on a motorcycle trip up to the adirondacks on sat for a week and my chain was stretched out and had a few tight spots. i'll let you know how i make out. kevin
  11. i just bought a chain and sprockets today from a local honda dealership. they had nothing in stock so i had them order stock replacements for the sprockets and a "o" ring chain not an "x" ring. being in a rush when i picked them up today i didn't get a chance to look at the sprockets or chain until i got home. i put both sprockets on with out a problem but i am wondering if they gave me the correct chain for the bird. on the box it says D.I.D 50 VA-120ZB and D.I.D 530 V O Ring. in the manual it calls for D.I.D 50 ZVS. i couldn't find that anywhere. before i put that on tomorrow, can you tell me if that is right? they didn't give me a stock replacement for the front sprocket because it didn't have the rubber around it like the stock one does. will that make much of a difference? thanks. kevin
  12. i won't be able to today but if you were to take the bolt out, the O ring is on the opposite side of the threaded end. i just ordered some from honda but the parts guy i spoke with didn't know what it was for.
  13. nothing yet...i guess its not an important part
  14. the other day when i was changing my brake and clutch fluid i took out my brake pads to check them. when i took the bolt/pin out to check the pads, the small 0 ring on the end was shot (it was elongated). what purpose does it serve? i put the bolt back in for now since the honda dealership wasn't open today or yesterday. i am also still on my first set of pads at 21,000 miles, seems like good life out of the stock pads. there was a good amount of pad left so i kept them on. i have new ebc's when they eventually wear out.
  15. well i guess add me to the list of front end wobble. i get it while coasting under 45 mph, but its not all the time and its at different speeds. i am running a sportec m1 on the front with about 6000 miles (its got tread left too!!!) and a m3 on the rear with about 1000 miles on it. i have a new m3 front ready to put on but i will probably wait some more time/miles before putting it on. i figured that the front is out of balance becuase of wear but i'll have to wait and see. but i might end up changing to the tapered bearings this winter.
  16. well i got to take my bike for a ride yesterday and it felt pretty good. seems to be a little more harsh on bumps but overall a good change. i didn't push it too hard but took some nice twisty roads to test it out. one thing i did notice is when i was leaned over and hit a few bumps in a row, the bike felt a little unstable...it bounced around some. but i am guessing that is because the springs are too light.
  17. i mistakenly posted this in the pub so i reposted here... well i finally got around to checking the sag on my bike...its only been 4 years. my father in law just bought a kaw z1000 so we set up his bike then did mine. well the forks and shock are both stock and prior to any changes my sag was 50mm in front and 52mm in the rear. oh, i have the 6mm shim mod in the rear. after adding 4 washers to each side in the forks, i was able to get the front to 38mm sag. the rear i put the collar to the bottom (didn't bottom it out but close) and i got it to 40mm of sag. thats the best i could do with everything being stock. i know i need to upgrade but for now, this is what i have. i didn't get a chance to test ride, my dogs decided to take a long walk through the woods unsupervised and they didn't return until dark. going to take a ride tomorrow and i'll see how the changes went. will there be any negative effects to having the rear collor almost at the bottom? and is adding 4 washers to the front a lot??? i think my winter project will be getting upgraded suspesion...maybe that hyperpro combo kit. reasonable price it seems, any one care to comment...
  18. you have to leave more slack with the 6mm shim installed right??? so would it be safe to say when adjusting your chain (with the 6mm shim installed) using your center stand, about 1 1/4" to 1 3/8" is a safe measurment?
