I've snagged this stuff throughout the net. I appologize for not being able to give credit where due. I did my own research for the battery reference though because at the Canadian Tire, they can't handle the actually battery number, but need a vehicle for reference. They didn't have a listing for the XX so I had to use other bits as references.

As for the conflicts:

- K&N KN-303 or 204? This conflict was created due to a posting earlier up. I don't know which is the best.

Hope this helps

FWIW, I used to be a big advocate of Fram filters, but haven't used one in at least 4-5 years due to a filter test I saw online.

I prefer to use the Honda filter. Other than that, I use the Purolator, or ACDelco filters.

NAPA Gold are also good, as are Wix.

I won't use cheap filters on the bike. The car, however, is a different story...

Where do you get those Purolator, ACDelco filters, NAPA Gold or Wix in Canada? I've only found the Frams at CT or PartsSource. I'm assuming the NAPA gold is found at NAPA.

I can buy them through suppliers, Mikey.

Ideal Supply carries the NAPA, we buy Purolator through Uni-Select, and my dad bought me the ACDelco filters through General Auto Parts in Rexdale. Any AC Delco dealer should be able to get them for you.

Wix can also be bought through Uni-Select. Check your local automotive jobbers. I'm sure there's something available in Hamilton.

I know many people who use Fram. I used Fram also for many years. Never heard of anyone that I know that had any trouble from using that filter. I do use the Honda now but I wouldn't lose sleep if the Fram was on now.

Add me to the list... Fram filters on my old Buell S1 and a couple of friend's Harleys... I know... I know... (I got rid of the paint shaker!) Fired the H-Ds up and literally BLEW the oil lines off of the cases... Mine stayed on, but there was a high pressure spray from most of the oil line fittings. That cured me!

+1

Can't remember where, but I read something that convinced me to stop using the FRAM filters.

Found that the Honda Goldwing GL1500 and GL1800 uses the exact same filter in South Africa, same part no. and all... only diffs is that they are for some reason cheaper than the Bird filter?? same part no???

ZAR 180 to ZAR 320 for Bird Honda Filter, while ZAR 90 to ZAR 150 for GoldWing Filter

I'm using the Purolator Pure 1. PL14612 I believe I'm getting superior filtration from everything I've read, are only $6, and can buy them even on Sunday.

SO Nik, what did you do with the old oil pan?

Would make a fun target to blast holes in. Although I'm sure even a .22 could punch a hole clean through.

As soon as I get it packaged I'm going to send it to Trurotor so he can fix it and do with it what he pleases.
