SwampNut Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I'm spending a lot of time at my bench, for various reasons. This general purpose stool is killing my back. I'm going to start googling now, but if anyone has specific recommendations, please tell me. Basically near office chair suitable for an hour here, either using a computer or fixing/building things that take a long time. So it can't be bar height, nor normal seat height. This stool is the right height but needs a larger seat and back support. Edit: Oh, and no, not that fucking Vyper at $500. Yah nah, if it's expensive I'll just weld up an office chair instead or something. Quote
SwampNut Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Amazon search: Ergonomic shop chair Lightning deal 43% off, delivers in a few hours, and I had six minutes to get the deal, soooooo.... But it's Amazon so I can still decide on something different, and still listening. But this might be the thing, I'll take the arms off. Quote

Would love that it’s lowest it will “tuck in” under my bench with the arms under the bench? Quote
DaveK Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I see the arms fold up so now to find out how low the seat bottom measures when in the lowest position. Quote
SwampNut Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Yeah I didn't even look at measurements, I can cut shit if needed. I'll measure it when It arrives. Quote

SwampNut Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Oh, it's there, and is perfect. My current one tops out at 24 seated and that is perfect. It MAY be useful to be at 26 sometimes. This gives me both. It's going to be annoying to store when I only need the small one. Quote
SwampNut Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Looks like 20.5. My existing one is 24 at its highest. Quote
SwampNut Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Probably do it. It's a good chair for a couple hours. I removed the arms, that's not good in a shop. I'm also going to shim the back to push forward more. You can use washers. I'll design and 3D print some wedges at a precise angle because it's legally required that if you own a 3D printer you do two hours of work to print something five times to get it right, instead of using an existing 5 cent item and two minutes. SwampNut Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 It can go pretty low and pretty high. It may become my primary stool. I also got a mat since it won't roll on the foam tiles. Quote
SwampNut Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 I needed something to go on the foam tiles. The chair is a pain to scoot on them, and it was damaging them. Normal chair mats don't work at all. So two pieces of hardboard I had laying around, so it can be put away easily. And some canvas top material I had left from a convertible top repair to keep it together and provide just the right friction. The glossy hardboard face was way too slippery. Quote
