  1. I think the CG is from Lockhart Phillips...... Cheers,
  2.  ........ But at the end, it matters what we individually like... Cheers,
  3. Personally, on bike like the XX, the dual pipe looks in place.... The single exhaust doesn't appeal to me that much. On bikes like the R1 or 954 , it's a different story - not sure why.... The dual exhaust seems to sound "deeper" too. More bass sounding.... Unless it's the D&D.... then it's just loud !!! :poke: :fingerflip:
  4. What Chris said..... The HH pads wear even...... Cheers,
  5. Yey me !   .... I'm glad it's working ! Good job  Cheers,
  6. It looks like you'd need a new one.... http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/200_0351/pro...ntrol_valve.cfm Someone who delinked may have a spare one.... good luck,
  7. Unless you have the 80's VF bikes (Magna, Saber...) or paper filters (GL1200, dirt bikes, ATV's), as far as I'm aware - ALL honda bikes take the same filter. The number may be different, but they are all the "small" spin-on filters......CBR's, VFR's, Shadow's and Valkyrie's, Gold wings too..... Cheers,
  8. Hi, let me say first, THE GIVI LIGHTS ARE DESIGNED TO BE STOPLIGHTS, NOT RUNNINGLIGHTS !!! you did choose the right wires. The green is the ground and the green/yellow is the stoplight. The third wire should be black and brown, for the taillight. I wired my GIVI exactly at the bulb and have no problems at all..... When your case is off, do the bike lights work properly ? Have you checked the fuses and all the bulbs, on the bike and the bulbs in the case ? Have you checked the connectors in the case ? Did you install the lights yourself ?! On the E52 one light plugs into the other. Check the wires that connect to the contacts, both in the plate and the case..... Have you checked the current in the wires leadding to the taillight bulbs ? GIVI states that polarity of the wires is not that important (between the contacts and the bulbs in the case), but have you twisted the contacts to see if it makes any difference ? Sorry for so many questions..... Maybe we could meet somewhere half way and I could look at your wireing... You're not coming to Chicago, are you ?! Call 877-679-4484 and ask if they heard of similiar problems. I haven't.... I mean when the lights go off all the way is one thing, but the brakelight should not affect the taillight. Cheers,
  9. This is what I use and it works great.... and you can buy it f.e. here.... http://www.powersportsnetwork.com/enthusia...0&product=37137 It's the 4-201 part. Cheers,
  10.  .... Joe, is there anything you don't know ?! Cheers,
  11. Sorry , I had mine done by a dealer - can't help you.... Good luck !
  12. I liked both. 17K  on the stock BT57's and 8K on the 020...with more feel than the 57's. But I'd choose the 010 over the two anyday. Same mileage as the 020 and much better handling.... Cheers,
  13. ...sorry man.... I had this happen with one of those tire sealants in a can....the difference was, that stuff was white  BTW the "Seal 'n Air" worked great for me ! Cheers,
  14. Sorry if it's repeated, but here is a quick one. I red the mod from Carlos on the main page. He mentions the lines length for raised bars. I'm looking for an imput for the stock bars, from those who did the conversion - just the lines, not the delinking. Does 30" and 31" seem right or is that to long ? Also when you run simple two lines to the right and left calipers, are there any OEM parts that will be left out or not ? Do more of you have two different line ends like Carlos, by the mastercylinder, one straight, one 12 degree ? I don't want the Galfer kit, because the ends are polished which I don't care about and Spiegler doesn't offer just the simple front lines - they couldn't tell me the front line's length..... Cheers,
  15. Actually I thought that bushing could be the part# 8 here.... http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/200_0351/rea...l/rear_cowl.cfm and it sits in the rear footpeg supports, where the rear cowl mounts rest... Cheers,
  16. Mechanic - you welcome ! I'm glad it worked out... And Joe - I've never worked in BK... just the HONDA dealerships......  Cheers,
  17. I was able to tighten the one , center, upper nut - this is on the '99 XX.... No more rattle, although I left some slack for a little bit of movement. Cheers,
  18. Ok, here is a Polish way, that a friend of mine used on his Katana 1100. The tank had a dent on the top. He bought I think 2LBS of green peas - dry ! He filled up the tank with them and then poured water.... Not sure how long he left it like that, but the peas swelled and pushed the dent out. He had lot of cleaning to do, though.... Cheers, P.S. As was said before I'd try the dent busters....
  19. Except that the amount of air blocked or diverted by a larger surface is greater than the smaller one is a fact not an "opinion"...... Remove the stock screen completly, should be better yet  I'm sure you felt "cleaner" air going by you with the stock screen, since the air probably hit you in mid chest ( I don't know how tall you are), but the faster you go the more your neck muscles have to work. And it's much easier with the larger screen - GIVI works great here. But because the air hits most people in the "face", the turbulence creates more noise.....
  20. Here you go KawRider. I'm sure Ronnie will sell you his........ BTW Ronnie, I could see you saying that the stock looks better, fits better or gives you less noise/turbulence....there are many opinions, but to say that the stock gives you better wind protection is just silly.... ..... Cheers,
  21. If you are talking about the HP oil from HONDA, that's a semi-synthetic not full.... When the XX came out and then the VFR 800, the Regional Service Manager from HONDA told us (I worked in the Honda dealership back then) to steer people away from the HP oil for these two models. THe cylinder walls are coated with the substance that the HP oil damages.... Sorry don't remember details. But there was nothing said about the clutch. Also there are many people here who use full synthetic - I think Mobil 1 15/50 is the most popullar, that didn't report any problems..... My friend Tom has about 60K miles (I think !) on his '99XX with the Mobil 1 and I've never heard him complain... Hope this helps. Cheers,
  22. The FI light shouldn't glow ! IF there is a problem it blinks.... I had that problem. Turned out to be a short in the harness, but it burned the PGM unit with it ! Thankfully I had the extended warranty, and luckilly it gave up just around the block !!! Have your dealer check the isue mentioned by IXXRA ! Actually I think there is the service bulletin in the US as well :???: ..... Cheers,
  23. SO , if I like the stock LBS does it make me a bad rider ? .... Cheers,
