  1. I got a great deal on those pipes. Streetfighters severed their relationship with Blueflame and they were trying to move the inventory. They didn't have much demand for the pipes for the bird i guess. They're rather throaty yet not as loud as D&D's but to me that's a good thing. Don't know about BF's recent exhaust sytems though. Mine is a generation older than what's out now. They came with a blueflame sticker that was really easy to peel off. Now it looks like they use that riveted badge emblem that I hate.
  2. I think i paid about 500 bucks for the slip-ons from streetfighters by design, who no longer carry the blueflames. The sound is pretty good. Not as loud as D&D. The bike actually sounds a lot like a Hayabusa with D&D's but not as loud. These are the street mufflers with no removable baffles. Blueflame does make a high-mount with dual outlets, but i'm not sure if they make it for the bird.
  3. Thanks for the compliments guys. When I lost the auction for the CF scorpions on ebay, I was heartbroken. When I realized it was Phalanx that won the bid, I even tried to get him to sell them to me. They look great on the bird. I ended up getting a good deal on the Blueflames though. Streetfighters USA was getting rid of all their Blueflames and they sold these to me for just about 500 bucks shipped. I could have gotten the yoshimura's from them for less, but I liked the look of the dual ports and wanted to be a little different from the guys i ride with. The sound is deep, no raspiness at all. They're somwehat loud but not as loud as the D&D's. I still set off some car alarms when i blip the throttle. Overall i'm happy with them, I think they give the bike a little more attitude, especially at idle where the stock exhaust is bone silent.
  4. a better overall view of the blueflames
  5. I think you're taking a big chance if you plug the tire. I've done it as a means to get home, but changed the tire ASAP. I've ridden with a BT56 on the rear and the OEM Dunlop on the front. The bike wasn't as flickable then as it is now with the BT010's on it. My guess though is unless you're really riding the bike for all its worth, the mismatch tires won't slow you down.
  6. Hey guys, just thought i would let someone know about this. If you've ever thought about using slime to seal a punctured tire, be aware of a few things. I've used slime before and it worked. This time it didn't. If your slime doesn't seal the puncture, be prepared for a big mess. I had green shit from my transmission to my tailight and coating everything inbetween. I had to remove the rear tire and slipons to really get at it, and there is still some in hard to reach places. I guess I just made the case for a hugger.
  7. I'm on Ron Ayers looking for a handleswitch, the right hand one with the starter button and engine kill switch in it. There are 2 different part numbers listed. Anybody know which one is for the 1999 model? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. I've got the Zero Gravity Double Bubble. I like it. I don't cruise much. Most of my time is spent close to or into triple digit speeds. The Bubble creates a nice calm pocket for me when i'm tucked, and is otherwise serviceable up to about 80mph. I'm 5'8 1/2". Plus, I think the DB looks better than the tall windscreens. The pic below is old...
  9. I've read that some of you guys have had problems with motorcycle accessory wharehouse. I just recueved my DID ZVM from them for 130 shipped. Shipping took a few days longer than what I'm accustomed too, but all the local guys wanted about 200 bucks for the chain, so I said what the hell. It worked out fine since we've had thunderstorms everyday since I ordered it. You gotta luv south louisiana weather. This is a 108 link chain for those guys like me, who dropped a tooth on the front sprocket.
  10. Thanks, I had a 1989 325i convertible before I bought the M3. I'll be putting the euro S52 motor and six speed tranny and 3.64 LSD differential in it soon. I need to post new pics of my bike since I've put the blueflame dual-ports and double bubble screen on it.
  11. Thanks for all the replies guys. I just got them in and went out and bedded them. Thanks. The major thing that I did differently was putting both pads in and seating them before putting the holding rod back through the caliper. I felt like an idiot for not thinking of this last night. Or maybe it was the customary, "Lord, God...Please let this work right, I can't take anymore of this frustration." Yeah I bet that was it.
  12. I did notice that the inside half slides, but how far is it supposed to slide?
