  1. I have a 16 LED strip on the back of my xx for this reason. If i had to do over, i would just get one of these. http://www.customdynamics.com/knight_rider_led_light_bar.htm Very attention getting. If you didn't like the 'night rider effect', you could always just wire up two of the three wires so that the blinking action only came on with the brakes.
  2. Ya,,,more details on the Euro switch. One of you slouches take a pic would ya???? Make this thread the only one that we need to point to with all HID information. I think for my f4i I will just get a high quality toggle that is in inline with the ground wire.
  3. Got the kit today, and went to work on the F4i first, simply because it is easier to work on. I secured the ballast under the instrument cluster, with a series of zip ties, since the nose of the F4i really does not have that much room. I could have stuffed it under the headlight housing, but i was worried that the weight of the balast would create a stress fracture in the plastic. I didn't get the right connector in the mail. Strange. The dust cover doesn't exactly fit and seal on the new bulb. The metal spring bracket that presses on the back of the H7 buld did not have enough reach, since the new buld did not have as thick of a seat as the original bulb. I made up the difference by sliding some high temp tubing over the bracket. Worked very well and held it securely. Not sure what i'll do yet about the dust seal. Holy crap are they bright!!!! Very happy with the performance. Question: Did you guys install switches that allowed you to start the engine and then fire up the HID, so that it decreased the wear on the kit? Did you just run a toggle to the ground? Thanks!
  4. Just ordered mine today. 187 shipped. I will document the install if someone wants more details. I will be putting it on just the low beam for both the XX and F4i.
  5. Not sure how you could screw up something by flushing coolant. You would have to blow a head gasket or pump seal. Just ride it. See what happens. Dont' be so anal!!
  6. Sounds great... thanks. Just for the clarification,, what i was trying to say, is if you buy a two bulb kit, can you put that kit on two different bikes, giving you HID on the low beams? You can.
  7. Wow...thats a very nice picture. I'll do these the next time my cowl is off.

    GIVI mount

When i bought my bike, the rear cowl had almost all of its mounting holes on the cowl, disentegrated. There was amost nothing holding it on. After reaworking the cowl, i think i found the problem. The seat! The corbin seat was putting tons of pressure on the plastic around the lip of the cowl that goes under the seats. The two should normally not touch, but come close. I used spacers on the rubber gromets to raise the front of the seat. I also noticed it was shifting back and forth, so i cut some surgical tubing and glued it to the guide of the front of the seat that slides under the tank. If you hear lots of plastic creaking when you sit down,,,you probally have the same problem.
  9. How much work is involved to replace the instrument lights w/leds? How do you get in there to replace them? Thanks!
  10. Put some J/B weld in the stripped head, and force the best sized allen into it. Let it sit overnight and twist it out in the morning.
  11. Quick question. If you buy a dual light kit (high/low with two bulbs) are the kits completely separateable? Could i rig up two bikes with low beam HID? Is there common equipment that they share?
  12. Ya,,,,firing the bike up for small amounts of time and letting it idle,, really doesn't help anything. Doesn't even charge the battery. It does cause it to run rich!
  13. I still haven't gotten around to ordering these but its on my wish list. When one of you guys does an install...please take some pics.
  14. Woun't this cause it to run lean at speed?
  15. When i am cutting bf, this is my diet. Breakfast: 6 eggs ( 1 whole) 1 wheat bagel 2 turkey sausage or cold cuts Snack: Oatmeal Protien shake Lunch: Chicken and veggies Small portion of brown rice Snack: Meal replacement shake Light dinner/snack before gym: Oatmeal and coffee Back from gym: High calorie shake (50gm protien, 20+gm sugar) Before bed: Cottage cheese and a salad and 1 slice wheat toast. I usually add some sort of meat. Sounds like a lot of food, but it is all low glycemic index foods. This diet puts your metabolism on fire!!!!!!!
  16. I have never done ass on the ground squats, (on a regular basis) because i didn't see the need. For me, i saw much larger risk to loosing your balance and killing yourself, then with full parallell (ll) squats. I used to lift for legs for weight, now i lift for volume. Sounds crazy right? Legs are flat out different muscles then your chest or your bicepts. They should be trained differently because of this. As with any muscle group, i never do more then two excercises each workout. Meaning, if i'm doing legs, i do 3 sets of excercise A, then 3 sets of excercise B, and i'm done for that muscle group. My leg routien goes like this... Squat: Warm up 135 x 10 reps 225 x 20+ reps 245 x 14+ reps 245 x 10+ reps I will also do lunges or another compound movement. I almost NEVER do an isolation movement, because no one has ever been able to prove to me they are worth anything.
  17. Yup...i hear what you are saying. I used shearing and compresion/tension backwards. I thought the same thing about the moment the second i saw it. Every time there is any stress the bolt is getting worked.
  18. The only way something like this breaks, is if it is NOT in tension or compression. It is a shearing force across the bolt from misallingment. That is why it broke close to the face of the nut. There was probally a twisting action going on. Could the swing arm be out of allignment somehow or bent? How about the motor mount?
  19. The install is 90% complete. They are 100% functional. Now i have to find some good clamps to hold everything down, and prevent the lines from sliding on everything. The install would have been much easier if the bends had been more aggressive on the banjo fittings on the rotor side. I also had to re-adjust the main banjo off the m/c so it would not pull on the two throttle cables in a full left turn/lock. Could have been better could have been worse. But its mostly done
  20. Thanks man,,,i appreciate the offer, but i don't see why i shouldn't be able to get it to work. After all,,, its just cables. Keep you posted
  21. It would only be a problem if you lived in a soda bottle. You're in the clear.... all air stays at the top. Honda has a hard plastic insert with a black rubber seal below it. You shouldn't even get any fluid coming out. Just put a rag under the M/C to make sure.
  22. NP man. If everything backfires, i'll just put them on the F4i,,,they're a perfect fit on a very simple braking system. Might be good for someone to know. The double banjo comes right off the M/S like most other kits...i think it reaches.
  23. Its is very healthy for an engine to burn some oil between changes. This tells you that your rings are getting a good soak. I wouldn't think twice about 1 qt between changes. Thats not alot of oil. It might be abnormal, but it is nothing i would pull an engine apart for. Lets not get toooooo anal.
