  1. Not any more well she is just a little ruffed up.
  2. Yep, 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD extra cab. LOVE IT! That's the wifes 03 GT charcoal Grey 5-speed. She hates it when I drive it (I used to race those in SCCA) :icon_think: I might, but I will prolly need all the bling on it to get it to sell. Would you want the power commander too?
  3. sorry no pics I got a 2004 CBR600RR with 12,500 miles and new tires! It's a cool blue. will post some pics later.
  4. I grabbed a 600 for track days so the 929 must go.(out of garage space & sick of hearing the wife nag) I bought it last fall, it needed some love. So it got - new front tire (dunlop D208) It's what a had. - new rear Mich. Pilot power - new chain and sprockets (stock gearing) - fresh oil change and filter - coolant changed to engine ice. - forks fresh seals, bushing & oil - brake pads and fresh fluid. - new spark plugs - new air filter I just figure I better learn on the smaller bike. She's a sound rider with a few scratches and a couple small cracks. It came to me with the yosh tri-oval and a power commander

    Brakes???

OK Just checking to be really sure. I have the larger front wheel spacer on the right side if you look at the bike straight in front of the bike. It should go on the left??? I drove the bike about 100miles and did not feel any different?? I hope I did not screw things up. If I have to flip it back around I guess It would be a good time to change the pads??? Please confirm. Greg I just checked my service manual. It looks like the big spacer goes on the left as you look at it from the front. I would replace both sets of pads up front. Be sure to clean the pin bolt that holds the pads in. Light rub with some steel wool will do. I usually bleed the brakes and replace the fluid in the reservoir also. For what it's worth, I hardly use my back brake and my pads wear evenly. So I do think the uneven wear comes from the link brakes. For parts check with Mike Barth @ University motors in Fargo ND( be sure the tell them your from this board for discount)
  6. I love blue.... too bad they're size 13.... Too bad they are blue and size 13...
  7. There is nothing external on the forks to make adjustments. The rear shock has a spring around it with a collar type nut on top of the spring. the farther you screw that collar nut down the more preload you have. Or unscrew and lessen the preload. It's easiest to do with a friend. You sit on the bike while a friend holds it in balance and someone else measures say the passenger foot peg. Then without you on measure the same point. It's called setting the sag.
  8. A cleaner method is to use, LPG or LP-gas from a small hand held torch, turn the torch gas on & fumigate it around the suspected areas if you notice an idle change, there is a leak Beat me to it.... geeesh, using wd-40 would make a mess lol! Neat freek girly mans you both are! Do you keep wet wipes next to bed on a doily for cum spots?? :icon_lmao: :icon_lmao:
  9. You should be able to just unscrew the cap, pull the spring. Turn them up side down and pump to get close enough to all of the oil out. The ride hight adjustable shock will be fine instead of a shim.
  10. How much preload do you have dialed in. IIRC 30mm to 40mm is considered a good base line with you on the bike.
  11. Would this be a 2000 model? Then I would look to the wire loom. If not I would get rid of the fuel you have and try fresh fuel. I'm not sure how to check the fuel pressure reg. but that could be causing this. Do a search in here about Fuel pressure regs. Good luck, wish I could be more help.
  12. You truly are the ambassador of the hooligan life style!! Cool bike!
  13. Is there a top collar nut on the spring? if so back that off a little and lower your preload. Sorry that's all I got. I'm not very well versed on Penske shocks(I'm too poor). P.S. look for a damper adj. screw and turn to S for soft.
  14. Thanks to Mike (bartonmd) I have converted my 97 XX to an R1 R/R & my wifes 94 CBR 600 F2 also. With the stuff Mike gets he made a sort of adapter plug so I can unplug it all and go back to stock if needed. I think I had to go to the hardware store to get longer bolts. The new R/R is thicker. The R1 R/R needed to have the mount holes elongated to fit but no problem with a drill.
  15. I thought they use those as tow vehicles in Europe?
  16. I believe (but could be way of base) RPM and vacuum are related. At lower RPM you will have less vacuum and could be causing this lag. maybe a smaller vacuum canister would solve?
  17. Could you touch them with a dab of glue? Or maybe some thin double side tape is I think what I did.
  18. Yeah, Mobil 1 makes some good stuff, but how much for a quart? I think I see it at Wally mart for about $5 a qt. But I'm to lazy to make a second stop. I get good prices from the local stealer and would be about the same as what I pay for Honda synthetic. $5 is for the car oil. :icon_snooty: How much for the motorcycle specific oil? Don't know? Like I said LAZY I just get the oil at the Honda stealer when I pick up filters.
  19. +1 I told my wife when we met that if she didn't like riding she would be very lonely in the summer. I also warned her if it was ever a choice between me owning a bike or having her, she would be going. I have seen to many guys give up a passion like riding to please some woman. The problem with that is they are never happy, so regardless of the things you give up they want you to give up more. Stand your ground young man!!!!
