  1. yeah, interesting stuff! But also consider that not all pressure guages are accurate.... I bought myself a digital one, sometimes there's a 2-3 points difference with what the petrol stations one says!
  2. thanks northman! (maybe the not selling to overseas is a limitation imposed by honda? )
  3. Thanks again for the quick response. I'll look what paypal is, never used it, and let you know. un abrazo!
  4. Thank you Carlos! I might use your offer when i finally decide to 'revamp' the bike (repair smaller scratches, dubble bubble, seat recushioning ) or maybe i'll just order them and store them until the big day. Maybe you want to private messagge me with how you want it to be done or should i e-mail you? BTW, are they Honda OEM, or third party? If so, any negatives? Thanks again!
  5. Oh nooooo! They don't do international overseas. Anybody knows a similar cheap supplier on this side of the pont? :?:
  6. ops! after trying 5 minutes, now it works....
  7. the ronayer link doesn't work! I have to repaint or replace both.

    Clunk?

same situation here. Had it before putting new springs and after. Its a 'clonk-clonk' thing at slow speed bumping. I doubt its the calipers, they have a little movement freedom due to the rubbers that hold the side-sliding axes in place... Air? The less oil? Can't believe it is that... but the noise is coming from the forks.. STRANGE!
  9. hehehe, thanks for pointing that out! Indeed, on a smaller scale it's insignificant, but when talking about 100.000's theres some difference!!! Ok, i'm mainly talking about KM'S because here the magazines give the 100.000 km prize. Now, 100.000 MILES is an excellent goal for a bike, isn't it! Back to the issue, i worry about how much 'fun' (speeding, dragging, wheelies, etc) the bike will still give me. Should i start to drive with more caution from certain point on? Or will a major mantaince just put the bike back in shape as usual?
  10. i'll write a little story of my bike at 100.000,... for a magazine that gives you a set of tyres, sprockets and chain and EBC HH pads.... so i really wanna know how to get there
  11. Hi my bird doesn't stop stop adding km/miles to the counter  , at the end of this year i may reach the magical 100.000. I've never read a magazine with a 100.000 endurance test of the Blackbird... is there something on internet? Also, my mecanic is quite 'intuitive' and does more or less than the manual says. He hears if the valves are okay and that sort of things... I wonder if i should let him check some specific points when i reach those 100.000.... ?? thanks in advance

    My project

oooooo my, when i saw the pic, i thought..... I WAS IN A HARDLEY FORUM! lol!
  13. stupid question: wouldn't making the side air inlets of the carb'bird bigger convert it into a ram air? What wonders does a proper ram air do that the ordinary inlets don't? I understand your proposal is complex and clever, thanks for the brainpill!
  14. My mecanic did it for me, he used some special tools, but maybe... The steering is like new now, very easy!
  15. i drilled 6 holes in each silencer, tru the 6 stock holes... Riding, it sounded very nice and SBK-ish, but at idle it was horrible, so i finally cemented the holes.
  16. Thanks for those corrrections friends. Indeed, I meant Silencers. I took the silencers off, and only the silencers Now some technical: Alphabird, i appreciate your comments and warning. Yes, indeed, the bike didn't run 'smooth', and was low on power, but i wanted to proof that a BB that doesn't scrape is very Track-Capable. Anyway, i wonder about the backpressure issue. The stock silencers have a lot of that. Racing silencers are normally just a piece of 'pipe' surrounded by sound absorbing material, and sometimes just a 'pipe' (look at Ducatis GP bikes)... Do you mind to help me understand the function of backpressure?
  17. No. Absolutely not.
  18. well Hyperpro instructions are exactly what my mecanician already did to my XX 2 years ago: improve the flickability. Anyway these modifications are up to you. I've got a 3 mm spacer in the rear (err, the bikes rear :-) and lowered the front. The bike turns like a supersport!
  19. As promised, here the results of my latest track day... Went for a full day to Valencia Circuit (Spain). I was there 2 months ago and tested my new rearsets and hyperpro springs with good results, but i still scratched my pipes 2 times, and it's to scary to repeat. Step by step i'm getting faster every time i go to the track, and last time it was really impossible to ride the XX faster in the turns. Solution? Take the pipes off! Of course, the sound was the truest GP noise! My friends could hear me from the opposite side of the track LOL Ok, but the best thing was, i could lean the bike as far as i wanted (the new Pireli DIABLO tyres did their job SO good!), and also the lesser weight (12-15 kg) helped a lot. First time in my life i could follow some R1 and GSXR1000's with slicks and even passed some and ran away! It's a realy amazing and glorious experience!!!!!!! Many times there was nearly no room for my inside knee.... Now, obviously, i'm looking for a 4in1 solution that is high enough to prevent any future pipe scraping... I hope the photografer did his job, i will post photos ASAP.

    XX knocking

i changed my tensioner at about 50.000 km and now at 65.000 km (roughly 50.000 miles?) my mecanician says i need to change the chain, and some little stuff... Under 45.000 km the engine never ever made ANY noises (beside the clutch when not pressed). Later i changed myself the tensioner and noises went away. Now rattling noises are back at low rev's (until 2500 rpm +/-). No way upping your idle revs is helping, as you won't up it that much (standard = 1.100 revs). I understand that changing the chain is 'normal' at my 'milage'...
  21. The weight was on a sticker on the box, i thruw it away... :???: With overdamped you mean the oil is not flowing fast enough? Too small holes inside? Anyway, now the bike's behaviour is better for the track: superstable, precise etc... and under hard breaking it stays stiffer.
  22. rodrash: ask hyperpro.com ! News: i changed the hyperpro fork oil (2.5) for a grade 10. I had some big moments at high speed highway bumps.... too nervous... NOW it's realy perfect.
  23. at least had got some 3rd party or HONDA pieces.... Yamaha rubish on Hondas flagship!!! UN-F**KING-BELIEVEBLE Do you keep the original rearend? Put it back on!!! LOL (sorry man, had to say it, enjoy your monster anyway  )
  24. Weeeeell! Last week i mounted the HyperPro Racing Springs Combo (3 in 1 package). On Saturday i did a trackday, and i also have been testing pointing at any hole or irregularity i saw at the road :-) I had hardened stock suspensions before (oil, precharge etc, you know) I must say this is a big improvement! The bike mantains the same or better stability/stifness it had in hard turning, chicanes... but of course it is much better when you come across those nasty bobbles on highway bridges, etc, etc... Theses springs are progessive (20% medium, 80% stiff), heavy duty, they look better and weight more then stock springs. I used Hyperpro 2.5 oil (included) , standard precharg in front, and 1,5 cm precharge rear, standard compression. I think it's an intresting option if you want to improve handling, highspeed cornering, 'enduro-ing' (lol), and prevent fairing/exhaust scratching... The kit costs 215 euros + tax/shipping, and mounting everything is about 80 euros (2-3 hours) more, depending of your shop. check it out: www.hyperpro.com
  25. btw, saturday is my trackday, i'll wait till then to write a review.
