  1. I've got a roommate coming soon so I'm finally getting off my ass and de-cluttering. Make a reasonable offer on anything and it'll probably be accepted. Shipping will be from 91745, I'll do flat rate or whatever you want. They go to CL sometime soon, guessing early next week. The BB manuals are kinda dark & blurry; one's a '97, the other is '99-'00.
  2. Yup, and parent/child transfers stay at the old tax.
  3. The only big relief I have here is Prop13 which 'grandfathered' property taxes, but they're trying to take that away.
  4. I've never heard of it so I'm guessing CA doesn't give that tax break, so surprising.
  5. Thanks for the clearer explanation. I've never heard of that before.
  6. Do you get taxed as income when you sell a car or what?
  7. What part? That person is lucky that that caliper holds the pad in place, with some it'll spit the pad out causing more problems. Back when I worked at a car rental place a guy wore the inboard side of the rotor off, the pad ejected, the piston went into the vent and locked the tire sending him off the side of the freeway. He came in screaming about the dangerous car we gave him and said he was gonna sue. I pulled out his contract and handed it to the boss. I'd written the date and time of his phone call to complain about brake noise and I told him to bring the car in, about two weeks before the crash. I think the boss wound up making a deal with him to buy the car instead of paying for the damages.
  8. He's old as dirt now, he might be warming up to asking how to fix some broken stuff and we don't have a medical forum.
  9. What stuff would you expect to have to do to one with 20+K? To be clear, I'm not questioning your decision or judging one bit, just curious. I'm glad you found your gem and that you had the resources to get it painlessly.
  10. I wouldn't be worried about it, but I won't say that there's no danger. The flash point of oil and cotton are both way too high to ever reach (around 400F), but oily cotton could ignite as low as 250F. Still higher than I'd expect to ever see in that area.
  11. Trippy, I didn't know the bay of pigs invasion happened a day after my Bday, but 9 years before my Bday.
  12. The engine block, away from the exhaust, isn't going to get hot enough to matter. Basically whatever the coolant temp is is about as hot as the back of the block will get. I've run rags & paper towels in the valley of my Powerstroke for years.
  13. Another option, if there's a spot to do it, is to stick a rag or napkin in there to absorb it to keep it from making a mess. And it looks like you tried to post a video, but it's just a white screen with audio.
  14. Is it really your Birthday or a fake internet listing Bday?
  15. I think he finally realized that anyone who can make the 90 mile swim to America at 11 months old isn't someone to fuck with.
  16. If it's true that the engine has to come apart to replace the o-ring I would try: https://www.permatex.com/products/adhesives-sealants/sealants/permatex-spray-sealant-leak-repair/?locale=en_us
  17. I had a passing thought that you were thinking passes instead of just rows. And to add to the rest of all this, a wide single row might do better than two narrower rows. Material type and thickness, row spacing, heat sinking.... There's just no way to say that a two row is better than a one. A friend of mine recently had me replace the radiator in his Cherokee XJ with an all aluminum "high performance" rad thinking it would be an improvement. From looking at it I had serious doubts and told him he should just return it, but he was convinced it was great so I installed it. It overheated constantly. I replaced it with a cheapo stock replacement plastic/aluminum rad from Oreilly and all was good again.
  18. The number of rows has absolutely nothing to do with the positioning of inlet/outlets regardless if they have vertical or horizontal tubes. If the rows were internally separated so that the coolant had to flow through one, then reverse direction to flow through the other then yes, the connections would have to be changed, but I've never seen or heard of a radiator built like that and can't imagine why anyone would do that.
  19. You assume. Maybe it is better and maybe it's way shittier. I've seen a few examples of radiator 'upgrades' that were actually a downgrade and had to be replaced immediately because they wouldn't cool enough. If you've already put enough miles on in hot weather to prove that it's an improvement, or at least an adequate replacement, please share your experience and a link for those needing to replace theirs.
