  1. Me too - Me Too 99 with Yoshi slip ons I did have it dynoed last year here in Mt. couldn't tell the difference, had the same rough idle. Probable TB sync needed. I'll be doing valves first, then sync, then I was thinking another dyno, but they want $175. still snowing

    chains

Chains ?? we don't need no stinkin' chains
  3. OMG

    chains

Shucks I was hoping that this would be about tire chains, 14" of snow and still snowing.
  4. Have the girlfriend move in with you.
  5. I agree with this...but when it comes to having a bigger house to better suit your family....not so sure an RV can be considered a keeper. I would also bet....he doesn't ride it as much as it being a labor of love. Put the kids in bunk beds, trust me, they will be leaving before you know it. It really doesn't matter how big the house is or where you live. School yes. The most important thing is for them to learn independence and to know that they are loved. Then let them go and have a nice ride.
  6. There are some things that just can't be replaced, this is one. When you are old, you will wish you still had it. And how much does it cost to keep? Think about it, someday one of your great grand children will find it in the back corner of the garage covered up and will be stunned! Being the genius child that they are, they will secretly formulate fuel and whatever is needed to make the thing run again. They will then secretly roll the bike out and learn to handle it and one fine day will scream it down the highway. Once again there will be someone on the planet that will feel the freedom of riding! Then the police will catch them and subject them to the mandatory thought management training. Oh well, good luck, I'd love to buy it just to have another one.
  7. Yep JB weld and that will buff right out. If it hit hard enough to do that what else is bent/broken??
  8. So, a question for you who have set valves more than once. Is it better to have the clearance on the low side or high side of tolerance. I'm wondering if, with miles, the valve clearance opens up or gets tighter.
  9. Switch oil?? Sorry to hear that, hope you are not hurt.
  10. If you are not using frosting for toothpaste you don't really have a problem. If you don't fill your bellybutton with frosting in the morning for later you don't really have a problem. If you don't mail yourself Hostess Twinkies so you can have a snack when you pick up the mail you don't really have a problem. You do have a problem if you tell your friends you eat to give your truck better traction. Or if you think of all the starving people in China and eat so the food isn't wasted. And if you stand on the roadside with a sign that says "will work for doughnuts" you have a problem.
  11. Momma say fill your soul with Jesus
  12. This is a very interesting thread -- I won't mess with it again. And where and how and with what does one install pitot tubes in a birds exaust??? That's an interesting idea that I would try.
  13. No wonder I was having such a problem following this thread, I thought these were a pair. Ok I was thinking those two thingies on the chest of a woman
  14. Been stopped two times in the last year for "over the limit" one a warning and the other, well, I need to talk to the judge. I have the V1 I really need the in helmet warning

    Spark Plugs

Spark plugs?????? this thing has spark plugs????? shit I wonder if my Tundra has spark plugs ? It has 110,000 miles and I haven't even thought about sparkplugs.
  16. If you aren't going to move it much go for the unisaw and either fence. I've had one that I bought used 25 years ago, still works perfect. Except that it doesn't run as well on the newer lower octane electricity.
  17. Crap -- I was just in Denver and didn't have a computer connection
  18. That does raise a question. Is a ten year old bike due for a radiator flush, the same as one would do for a car? Or are we confident that the superior coolant and water are keeping the internals perfect. No doubts about the other fluids and that reminds me, I need to change all my other vehicles brake fluid as well. Might as well make a day of it.
  19. Would it make sense to put a VERY light spring on the chain to hold it taut and out of the way? I'll be installing mine soon, but not till I see all the photos.
  20. I'd like the rack if it fits with beetle bags
  21. I just read an ad for a f-150 pickup that read 39mpg highway. 1982 magazine wonder what happened.
