  1. traxxion makes them call and talk with them they will set you up with what you need I have 1.1's from them and love them. XX here has the 1.05's I think they send you one 1.1 and one 1.0 ? good luck and its a big improvement
  2. New chain and the pc2 back in and all the surging is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least I know how to tell when my chain is shot now hehehe thanks again
  3. new chian and NO SURGES I am happy other than waiting 3 hours to get it done.
  4. chaparral motorsports installs chains for 35-40 bucks. I called one time it was 35 this time it was 40 heheh. They offer drive in service on first come first serve during the week and on Sat all they do is simple maint so if you get there later in the day you may only have a short wait. I have not used them but plan on being there Sat for the chain swap. They also have a 114link did zvm530 at $133. I HOPE this fixes my surge problems
  5. nope I have not had the time to get a new chain and I am fairly sure now that the pc2 is off it is the chain. I tried to tighten it and then less than 100 miles its back to out of spec
  6. The center of my avon front still looks new and both sides are well worn. The rear I went through the center was gone and the edges still had quite a bit of life so I think the side walls of the avon front are pretty soft. It has about 10K on it. I had the rear replaced last year with there warrentee with NO QUESTIONS asked
  7. I do not have a chain cutting tool or the install tool for a chain. A local parts place will rivit the chain for me but does not do installs so If I pull the front sprocket can I then install the chain after its been rivited or does it have to be rivited while on the bike ? I have never done a chain replacement so I may end up just taking it to a shop insted of spending the 120+ for the tool. When its something I will only need to do ever 2-3 years. thanks
  8. I have not checked fule pressure and dont have a clue how to but if the chain does not help then I will dig deeper Thanks for all the info
  9. Well took the PC II off and it may have gotten a little better but I think its just wish full thinking. I guess its time to buy a chain.
  10. it could be I think its still the original battery from 2000. and when at idle if I rev it a little the light will get way brighter but if at over 1K ior so and I give it gass it does not. More things to look at now if I just had time. I ride it as much as possible, It had sat about 4-6 months while I was moving but now gets ridden at least 3 times a week for a 30 minute freeway trip to work and then back. I try to keep it under 100 but ususaly cruise at about 90. Thanks keep them coming.
  11. Will do the chain has about 16K I thought they went like 20-25K miles. But I do have a heavy right hand when it comes to taking off
  12. Well the first problem with my bike it has started to surge when at about 4.5K and up in rpms. While accelerating. It does not go Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa it goes WaaWaaWAAAWaaaaWaaa You can hear it and feel it. Could it be the power comander ? I have had it on the bike for over 8K with no problems till now. I have never ran a FI cleaner should I try that ? will clogged injectors make it surge ? I am going to try removing the PCII and see if that helps or at least make sure its not loose. Any other Ideas ? While I am at it when you change sprockets Whats the best way to tell when its time to replace a chain ? I am in the replace area of the swing arm but it went into that when I lost a tooth up front. thanks
  13. could also be a loose or warn/gunked up chain
  14. I have the oval 2 bros carbon cans and they fit good. Just a bit of extra clearance on the sides and about 3/4 of an inch from the top of the can to the bottom of the beetle bag. Just from memory they bags are not on the bike right now or I would shoot a pic of them
  15. I went with 1.1 from traxxion I weigh in at 230 and LOVE them. Easy install even with minimal tools and skills.
  16. Well after having my rim scratched to hell by a tire installer I decided to make my own equipment and scratch the hell out of my rims myself. If you find a good mechanic its worth paying the 15-20 bucks a rim to have them put the rubber on. after 2 rear installs I have gotten better but would not trust myself to do someone elses tires. Its just to easy to scratch the rims.
  17. It probly a mini they do on oval tracks. The cars are like 6ft long replicas of old 1932 fords or some kind of old car.
  18. thanks guys I will be on it this weekend along with another oil and filter change
  19. ok I know everyone says its easy :) so anyone do a step by step on it yet ? or where about is it covered in the manual ? Thanks
  20. I am also 230 and Traxxion recommended the 1.1 springs for me and well I really like them. As David said make sure to check the sag. I did mine and did not check it well I did today and was at 44mm compared to the 35 or so it should be. I had to cut my shims down about 1/2 inch. The total length of the shim is now 4.032 and it measured in at 33mm of sag.
  21. just remember that when the 2 sided tape wears out at 10 miles of your 2k trip heheheh I kind of wished I had done it that way but I would probly use an epoxy especialy if your bike gets wet.
  22. ummmmmmmm I thnk it was 230 and they were very helpful replacing the rear when I got a nail in it the first week I had it . Avons full replacement warente;) that also included tax because I am local but you will have to pay shipping so it should be about the same They are listed on there web page and will meet/beat all others prices.
  23. I got mine from parts411.com but they are local to me so I could go pick them up .
  24. i purchased my fork springs from Traxxion and was 100% happy with there service.
  25. If you are considering taking a track day you might want to give http://www.fastrackriders.com a shot. I just did there Riding Saftey School that includes level 1 track day. The cost for the School was 65 and the track day was 150. There were no other costs and anyone could go watch for free. The day started with 3 slow trips around the track and then a lesson how to exit and enter the track and 3 more slow trips around . This was done while the level 1-2-3 guys were in the drivers meeting. So it was only us newbies out there. Then while the group 3 and 2 riders were on track we were in the class room getting a great overview of counterstearing and flags basic track etiquet. It lasted about 30-40 minutes. Then it was off to the track. The school and level 1 all go at the same time. There were 12 students and 4 instructors. Basicly 1 person would follow the Instructor a while then he would wave you on and he would watch the next. After the Track session was over we would go to the meeting room and they would discuss what they saw you doing wrong or needed work and would ask what you would like to work on and explain how to make the changes. They would then cover more topics of saftey and basic riding skills. It ended up with a total of 5 class sessions of about 30-40 minutes each and 8 track sessions of 20 minutes each. I have never been to any other riders school so dont really know what happens there but the guys at fast track were a great group of people. The owner was also one of the instructors he purchased the school about a year ago. i guess before he purchased it it was a bunch of hooligans that ran it so it used to have somewhat of a bad rep. I for one thought I was a decent rider I was quick to find out I SUCKED!!!!!!!. After the first go around the instrutor told me I was totaly leaning the oposite way I should be in cornering hehehe. So I had to lean the bike WAY more than I needed to make a turn. In class they went over the how and why center of gravity and counterstearing works. He went on to show me on a supprted bike how I should be leaning and also how to slide my ass over and off the seat a little so after I got comfortable with shifting my weight I could start to slide my ass off the seat. The second time on the track it was like I was on a different bike one that I could actualy turn. It took most of the 20 minutes to get the hang of it and I would still catch myself leaning the wrong way but at least now I know what I was doing wrong and am working on correcting it. Heheh I bet people think I am crazy I have been sliding my ass off the seat and forcing myself to lean into the turns even way more than needed just to force myself to quit my bad habbit. If you happen to go to one of ther classes please let them know that John Freeman a former student sent you there way . If 3 people go to the class I get a free track day. They are also very open to setting up "private schools" if a group was interested. I bet with 10-15 people we could have the instructors all to ourselves. Of corse the cost of the trck and stuff they would still have to run the level 1-4 just to brake even. He was saying they dont see a proffit till they hit 70 people. They also have a pro photographer there taking pictures all day. Had like 6-8 of me that I saw and they were still printing out thumbnails when we left at 4:30pm. The total track day was from 7am to 5 pm. So they got in at least 1 more track session after I left but I was beat and did not want to go out there tired I like my bike to much. They had 8 flag people around the track Ambulance tow trucks all the saftey stuff. After our last class room session for the day was done and we got our class photo Free and a certificate that shows we compleaded the course. We had one student total his new R1 Not one thing on the bike was undamaged. He came out of it fine says the rear end came out from under him in a turn.
