  1. Pristine ????????????????? Driveshaft has dust on it.
  2. Barry, I don't think that plugs can read your odometer. Mine just turned 30 thou on Sat and I am the only one that noticed. I will probably check them in the next month are just to see what they look like and check the gap.
  3. Backstreet, You will love the EBC HHs. It does take some getting used to the sound of a lathe working on your discs.
  4. Easiest and cheapest way to go fast........ 50 hp shot of nitrous!!
  5. Rockme....I'll borrow one from my brother that he uses on his 308.....funny thing about his...it uses Chevette air pumps!! From the factory!
  6. Does it come with the install kit or is that extra??
  7. It was the original (July 01). A cell shorted out. Will Honda warranty it???
  8. I got mine thru this place.. I ordered an early model set in silver chrome. I seperated the XX from the CBR part just a bit. I think it turned out pretty good.
  9. CBXMike..I had to paint mine black as to disquise it as one of the slow ones. It sorta of reminds me of the old days where there were of bunch of bike guys standing around arguing as to who had the fastest bike. Somebody mentioned that he just picked up a brand new Kaw 500.....everybody else started to mumble and shuffle away.

    Chains

Mine now has 25.4 k miles on the original chain. I clean mine with diesel fuel with extra oil mixed in and wipe it down with a shop rag. I then fire the bike up, let it idle in 1st gear for a minute and then apply rear end lube (sparingly) to the moving chain on the links as well as the end of the rollers. I let it idle for another minute or 2 and then give it a coat of chain wax to keep the lube in the chain. I still apply a bit of the oil every 3 or 400 miles. Forida heat and sand can be brutal on chains.
  11. I know one thing about the EBC HH pads. When I 1st put them on and took a ride around the block and just touched the brakes, I thought I forgot to put the pads in .......sounded like a lathe working on my rotors. But they are great. Even my son could not fade them at Deals Gap.
  12. Actually it will take all that you can pour in....if you can get it to leak out just as fast.. Usually means that some idiot has left the drain plug out. .....don't ask me how I know this.
  13. Don't stop checking in just because your Bird is no longer with you................. As you know... the more the merrier in this lot of kooks, weirdos and generally all around good guys. Hell, they let me in!
  14. Looking at my 02, the overflow hose goes all the way to and dumps out between the back of the engine and in front of the swing arm, just to the left of the coolant over flow tube. The air vent hose reminds me of some mid 70s emissions mentality. ..... It goes across the back of the engine to a grommet on the inside of the right frame rail just above the engine number plate and in front of the overflow bottle. If you lift the back of the tank and look straight down on the inside of the right frame rail above the numbers, you will see a little bolt head sticking out. The grommet is just below that . You can stick your finger thru from underneath the frame and feel it grommet...Sorta like fishing around for the "G" Spot. Anyway, the hose makes a U-Turn and goes back across the area above the tranny to a T-fitting. You are going to love this part.... At the T-fitting a 9 inch long hose goes up towards the top of the motor on the right side. The hose going the other way goes down to the left side ot the engine between the clutch slave cylinder and the water pump. If you look at page 1-33 in the Honda Service Manual, look at the bottom left of the page for FUEL TANK AIR VENT HOSE. Hope that helps you.
  15. Redbird, Thanks....PM coming your way. Will that be a can, 6 pack, case or truckload?
  16. Redbird, If you have one to sell, I'll take it. Never got one with the bike. PM me with your address and the huge amount of money you may be asking for it. Thanks, David
  17. Lukewarm, I'll take it !! PM me with your address. I can send a check or money order (your preference) and you can ship it after payment clears bank. Now if I can find an 02 owners manual.
  18. Instant chicken strip eraser can be found here!
  19. Usually (just like bike tires) you get what you pay for. My dad had a set of Falkens on his Supra back in the 90s. 2 of them suffered belt seperation and they would not warranty them. Rep said that my dad was running them at highly illegal speeds and racing around corners. It was an 83 Supra with an automatic that would top out about 115 and my dad was in his early 80s. Hpoefully they have gotten better. Check Tire Rack or Discount Tire for any reviews that they have.
  20. I am going to try PR2s on mine this month. The center is bald and the sides look almost new...only 3 days at the gap. Too many Florida miles. Krypt Keeper....... consider a throttle limiter...set it just above an idle.
  21. If you heard a pop or a crack when you hooked up the jumper cables and the bike quit as soon as you took them off, you might have a bad connection somewhere. Try hooking the charger up but attach the ground lead to the bike frame instead of the battery.
  22. Place it here FIRST !!! http://www.kawasakitriplesworldwide.com/phpBB2/index.php
  23. Yea, you could make it fit. And it would probably snap like a dry twig.
