  1. http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/812737 I've use them before for my Z1000. It is a legit OEM manual. $9.00 is worth it, if a free one doesn't come along. Brian
  2. Yes it works, but I would reccommend using Sea Foam instead. ATF is an old mechanics trick, I think that you can buy a product called Marvel Mystery Oil( ATF in a fancy bottle) to do the same thing as well. B
  3. I had a set of the LSL bars. They were very comfortable, but lacked the stability you get with clip-on style bars. I had to extend the clutch line, and re-route the brake lines to get them on. If the bike weighed less they might give that "supermoto" feel. I got the sensation that the bars and mounts weren't sturdy enough to handle the weight and power of the Bird, more so when riding on the agressive side. I sold them to a member last year. Brian
  4. Could be the Horn Bearing.
  5. Sea Foam will foam up when the revs get high, leaving pockets of un lubricated parts inside your engine. The stuff is great, but in the oil it has that drawback. You can do it but, you must keep the revs down. I would only run it in my engine like that for 50-75 miles, then change your oil and filter. I learned this when my truck developed a temporary knock after revving the engine to track down an exhaust leak. I immediatly changed the oil, and haven't heard a peep since. On the up side, the oil was thick and black after only fifty miles of sea foam. This means that it really does work as a good cleaning agent. I don't know the answer to the clutch question, ask someone smart... Brian
  6. I chopped 8" off my Hindle muffler. It is very(Too) loud. I didn't have any problems, but I felt that I was on the verge of getting a speeding ticket all day long. The sound is a very low and smooth tone, but highly amplified. I love it, but I will probably replace the muffler soon.( I am looking into a SuperTrapp silencer as a possibility). Brian

ditto on the optima. I know, first hand, they can take serious offroad abuse. Is there a lift kit available for a RX7?
  8. I had a set of these for my bird. They are nice quality, but didn't suit my style of riding. The riding position is very upright, and comfortable. I felt LESS in control when riding aggressivly. I sold them here, but forget who ended up with them. I hope that they are being enjoyed. Brian
  9. If it doesn't have the HISS ign. You can go to any locksmith to have keys made. The key code is printed on the back of every lock. They can pick open the gas cap to see the code or take off the helmet lock to see the code. This process should'nt take long any is not expensive( unless you go to a rip off artist). Brian (locksmith in Indianapolis)
  10. Back to an earlier subject, has anyone put in the Yosh cams for their Bird? I'm always looking for more. The soon to be Mrs. Bongfeldt has put the nix on me installing a bottle. Future mods must be stealth, hense the cam question. Brian
  11. I'm with ya' on how the Busa looks. However, a bone stock busa will put the hurt on a blackbird, any day of the week. I have logged quite a few miles on the Busa, and what I found was that it can do at 4000 rpm what our bikes need to be at 7000 to accomplish. After the 4000 RPM rush, comes the real power so you need to be hanging on tight. Brian
  12. can anyone tell me how to post the charts. I have them in pdf format but can change that if necessary. Thanks, Brian
  13. I was at the dyno two weeks ago.. I'm happy with the bike, but am slightly disappointed with my results. 133.9 hp 79.1 torque. AF ratio is in the low to mid 13's. What that tells me is that there is very little room to improve. The bike feels great, especially with 25k on the clocks. I've ridden a Busa, and it's no Busa, but not far from it. I think it makes up for power with class.(can I get an Amen!). I am going to run the drag strip at IRP, when I get back from my honeymoon. I'll be sure to post my results. I have read posts of 145 hp out of a carbed bird, with 15 years of tuning under my belt I don't see how. I would recommend checking credentials of all dyno operators. My bike is a '97 bird, and without the use of alternative fuels I could not possibly get another 10 hp out of her. 1997 Bird- Hindle full supersport exhaust- 150 mains- 3 turns out- Factory Pro needles- 3/32 slide drilling- K&N filter- +4 advanced timing- 800 feet above the sea... I'll post the chart if someone tells me how, please. Brian
  14. highway mile markers are very exact. Stop at one, then zero out your trip ODO, then go to the mile marker five miles away. That sould tell you how far off you are. you'll have to do a little math, but I think you get the idea. B
  15. I have a '97 bird. I have a hindle full system that was listed for a FI bike. Perfect fit, no mods needed. Wasn't even close to interfering with any part of the bike. My 2 cents. Brian
