  1. First post-- Ebay link to a set of bars that won't fit the XX Good try
  2. +1 Mine did the same thing when I first got it at 20,000 miles. Good news is that it is something you can do yourself, and doesn't take much time or money. Have John01XX hook you up- It will be cheaper and you don't have to take the chance of getting one of the old ones from your local dealer. Also do the search here, lots of info.
  3. Beautiful bike, and 155HP is a pretty stout number. You definitely have some nice, high end add ons. Good luck with the sale!
  4. I have a friend (I don't think he's gay) that has one, and does a lot of commuting on it, especially now with the price of gas. Seen it about a week ago, and it had just rolled over 9,000 miles. Typical Honda, said its never had a problem. Probably not another around with the low miles, and condition of yours.
  5. I'm on my second set of Avons, the first being the Azaro's and now their replacement the Storms. Have about 6k on the Storms, and they look to have about another 1500 miles left before the rear will need replacement. I always replace in pairs so the front will get trashed also. I like the Avons for great grip and decent wear rate. My Busa has a set of Michelin Pilot sport HPX's, and I can't wait to get a set of Storms spooned on it when I get the HPX's wore a little more. Never slid around more, than I have with the HPX's.

    Increase HP

Not that I would buy one, but the dude hasn't got much negative feedback. Looks to be selling for just about any kind of car, bike or atv. A lot more takers than I would have thought.
  7. You would need to ride the bike to the store. If you want to have them check for charging voltage. When you have it running, and have the headlight pointing at the garage wall, can you see it get brighter when you rev it off idle. This will tell you that your charging system is at least putting out some voltage.
  8. You will definitely want it charged if you want a load test. I would think that one of the auto parts houses could tell you if you are putting out voltage if you think you can make the ride. My XX is putting out about 14.4 volts according to my on board voltmeter when RPMs are above 2500. Problem with the auto parts guys they are used to working with car batterys.
  9. At this point I'm just going to hold on to it. If I have to justify the expense on tools like this, I just figure it paid for its self in one trip of letting the stealership do the job.
  10. Picked up the Carbtune with case about 6 months ago. Back then with the currency conversion(which I wasn't smart enough to read right), my Visa was billed $135. Nice piece, but unless I was making my living working on bikes, I would probably not have bought them.
  11. First, I would invest in a multimeter. Even a cheap Harbor Freight deal, will tell you if your charging system is putting out voltage. Chances are your battery went tits up, and just needs to be replaced. You don't want to try to nurse along a bad or weak battery, or you will fry your charging system. And when it comes to batterys, you get what you pay for. Yuasa! And a lot of guys including me are replacing the 12AH with the 14AH. Just a tad taller, and a pretty good jump in cold cranking amps. No problems with fitting. Here's a thread on changing to the larger batterys http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?...a+battery+14+ah
  12. Starting at $9500 and still has to meet reserve- I don't think he will have any takers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CBR-N...sspagenameZWDVW
  13. 99- Just rolled over 43,000 tonite, and the only two items, beside the regular stuff that you will be replacing on any motorcyle, is like everyone else- the CCT & Rubberband.
  14. Good job. Thats the best way to do the fix. My 99 has done the FI light flicker a few times in the 4years I've owned it, and has been behaving, and staying off the last couple. I did split the connector and the pins were as shiny as the day they plugged them in at the factory.

    Slip ons ?

I have a set of the Yoshi stainless slip ons, and I think they recommend repacking every 15000 miles. Thats about when mine will probably go up for sale, and I put the stockers back on. The only problem I see with aluminum, is they will scratch very easily. Any slip on will be much lighter than the stock anchors.
  16. Getting a custom map done on my Busa next week, by a very reputable shop in Kansas City, and they charge $250. I like the Busa, but after riding it, makes you appreciate the more refined Blackbird's fuel injection.
  17. If it hasn't been changed for awhile and is real dark, it will stain the sight glass, and will look dirty even when it is clean.
  18. If I had an 02, I'd want the slipons. They look nice on the silver birds.

    Good Video

Old video, and probably a repost. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=723698905293246118
  20. I've noticed more of an emission of fumes from the exhaust since I did the PAIR modification.
  21. I also have the CarbTune, and might have thought twice after my Visa was charged $135. Not anyones fault but my own, for not checking the currency conversion tables. I purchased the pouch with mine, and it is a nice piece that will last a lifetime. I've only used it once on the Busa, trying to make it as smooth as the XX, but found out the fuel management is not as refined as the Blackbird.
  22. As I recall, it took a pair of needle nose pliers, a thin, long screwdriver to manipulate the cable Same for me. I just did a valve check, and had to remove and reattach the throttle cables, and it was a little tricky.
